Do not let this federal policy change create doubt about vaccines that have been proven safe and effective for decades.

• Access Continues: Families can still access the full range of childhood immunizations as recommended by the AAP to protect their children from serious diseases.

• Georgia Pediatricians Are Your Partners: Your child’s pediatrician has the medical training, knowledge, and scientific evidence to support your child’s health, safety, and wellbeing. Working together, you can make informed decisions about what’s best for your child.

• School Requirements Unchanged: Georgia’s school and daycare immunization requirements remain in effect and are determined by state law, not federal recommendations. Parents should continue to follow Georgia Department of Public Health guidance for school entry requirements.”

Children’s Care Pediatrics continues to follow the evidence-based immunization schedule published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This schedule has been proven to be effective and safe. We wanted to share the following from the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Pediatrics. We encourage patients and families to ask questions of our providers and please refer to our own vaccine policy which is posted on our website and in our office. Cold & Flu Season… we’re in the thick of it and CCP is here to help! 🤧😷

Here are a few quick tips to help you and your little one during this season: Lots of fluids, humidifiers, saline + suction for the tiniest noses, honey for kids over 1yo, and all of the rest and snuggles.

🩺 Schedule an appointment if your child has:
• Fever lasting more than 3 days
• Trouble breathing, wheezing, or fast breathing
• Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, fewer wet diapers)
• Ear pain or severe sore throat
• A cough that’s getting worse, not better
• Any concerns that just don’t feel right — trust your parent instincts! ❤️

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Dr. John Thomas. Dr. Thomas founded Children’s Care Pediatrics and warmly cared for generations of families. Many of you may remember him for his silly ties, always finding Mickey Mouse on ear exams, and his favorite chocolate milk swimming pools — memories that bring smiles to so many of us.

He will be dearly missed by our entire team and the families he served. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family during this difficult time.

His memorial service will be August 9th at 1PM at Roswell Funeral Home. If you feel inclined, please comment a fond memory you & your family shared with Dr. T so we can share with his family.

Curious what your new bundle of joy’s very first newborn appointment might be like with Children’s Care Pediatrics? We are here to give you the rundown! 👶

➡️ You’ll fill out brief new patient paperwork 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Providers review this & your hospital discharge paperwork prior to your appointment.

⚖️ We will check baby’s weight to see how it compares to birth weight while asking about feeding and diaper output with parents.

🩺 The providers will do a thorough head-to-toe examination of your baby to make sure they are healthy.

❓We answer all questions that you may have about your newest adorable family member to help you be more confident parents!

✨Tips & tricks: bring a cozy blanket for baby to snuggle in while waiting for a provider, keep a log of questions that arise before your first appointment so you don’t forget, and remember — you’re doing a GREAT JOB!
