I AM THE BOSS OF MY CANCER. MY CANCER IS NOT MY BOSS

Susan Levin is excellent! I was having a particularly hard time finding concise answers from my health care providers that might explain my condition (COVID-19).
It seemed like the doctors were just putting bandaids over symptoms and I saw no improvements. Susan took a proactive and 360-degree approach, considering all possible causes and effects for my condition.
After following her recommendations not only have I felt better than ever, but I also have a greater understanding of the root causes for my particular symptoms and how to best treat them should I have any future flare-ups.
Susan treats you as a person, not just the illness..

A sneeze travels 39 miles per hour!
Do you know there is a relationship between the gut and the lung?
if you have a gut issue, you must look to the lungs.
If you have a lung issue, you must look at the gut.
Do you know:
· Lungs Float
· Lungs are not sterile
· The nose and nasal cavity are filters for the lungs.
· When you exhale, you dehydrate yourself.
· Lungs inhale 11,000 liters of air per day
· The world record for holding your breath is 24 min and 37 seconds.
As we talk about the gut's microbiome, are we also talking about the lungs?

Have you heard of Epstein Barr Virus (EBV)?
90% of the population is a carrier.
For some people it makes no impact. For many it does.
You might want to get tested for EBV if you're experiencing:
Fatigue
Swollen lymph nodes
Sore Throat
Joint aches/pain
Fever/Chills
Anxiety
Sleep issues
Digestive issues
Hormones
Nausea
Migraines
IBS
Sometimes we think we know the root of our issues, but most of the time there is more than one cause.
If you're not feeling good, go to your doctor and ask for a lab test for EBV.

"I am most grateful for kick-ass Susan!" - Best testimonial ever. 🤣
"I found Susan to be a truly kick-ass, very focused lady who is very well versed in integrative health. When things get bad for yourself or your child and you need someone outside of conventional doctors but don’t know where to turn, I would highly recommend Susan Levin.
You need an advocate who has been around the block and can guide you. In my case I knew that what we were dealing with was time sensitive and we needed fast help. She was right there and fighting along side me, and got me the help needed.
I am most grateful and happy I know where to turn, if ever again I don't know where to turn."

You're hosting a garden party and you want your lawn to look beautiful, but it's covered in weeds. You call your gardener and have them come mow the lawn the day before. It looks great for the day of, but then, like clockwork, two weeks later all the dandelions and other weeds have popped back up again. It worked as a quick fix, but it didn't get rid of the problem.
This is how I like to think about probiotics.
A lot of us feel very confident when we have a daily ritual of taking different supplements, but our bodies get used to what we use and can sometimes be a bit tricky, even when we're religiously taking probiotics.
If you use the same probiotics for months at a time, you are creating an environment for new and better strains of probiotics to grow and develop to push out the unhealthy bacteria....until you're not.
You've got to switch it up.
What do I suggest?
I recommend rotating 3 to 4 probiotics every 2 months.
It sounds daunting, but just buy 4 bottles at a time, store them in the freezer until ready for use, and put a reminder on your phone to switch every two months.
Make sure to let them defrost before starting to take them!
The goal is to keep planting new, healthy strains of probiotics.
Want to learn more about Candida? There's a great book on it that I'll link in the comments.
Message me for info on which probiotics I recommend.
All probiotics are NOT created equal!

Read this if you're on antidepressants.
People take antidepressants when they're depressed. It makes sense. But a lot of time there is an underlying medical condition causing the depression.
Many of my patients have been able to go off of their antidepressant and antianxiety medications as we work together.
Medical issues that can cause despression include:
Candida overgrowth
Parasites
Dysbiosis
Overuse of Antibiotics
Unhealthy diet/lifestyle
Chronic constipation

Parasites can cause depression.
Parasites can easily go undiagnosed and undetected, along with Candida.
The reason?
The testing utilized in this country can't detect candida or parasites effectively.
I use special laboratories to test my clients.
I'm happy to give you the names of the laboratories, just shoot me a DM.
I want people to get answers.

Tongues and nails can tell you a lot about a person.
I'm a medical detective, not a doctor.
That means I don't physically examine my clients.
But there are some things that I do look at.
The other week, I had a first consult with a client and I had her show me her tongue. It was heavily coated with white. She had recently had a dentist appointment, but her dentist hadn't said anything.
A white tongue is indicative of a Candida issue.
If there's Candida in the mouth, it's usually in other parts of the body too.
Too much Candida in the body can lead to issues such as:
🤒 Reduced Immunity
💊 GI Issues
⚖ Weight Gain
👐 Psoriasis/Eczema
💇♀️ Dandruff
There are a few ways that I help my clients with their Candida issues.
Look in the mirror.
Is your tongue white?
Any of these symptoms sound familiar?

Are you addicted to Diet Soda?
Let me tell you a short story. I had a client come to me in her 30's. She was beautiful and bright and she was carrying a cane as she was having trouble walking. and she was having some vision problems.
She had been told she had MS, but I wanted to know more about her. So, I asked her about her diet. It looked pretty good, except for one thing. She drank 6 diet soda's a day
and had been doing so for about 3 years.
So when did her symptoms start? Guess
About 2.5 years ago. I suggested that while we dig into her diagnosis of MS , I asked if she would consider stopping the . diet soda.
I know that is hard to do. In fact, it is addictive.
You go through withdrawal, and can have terrible headaches , and can be linked to migraines.

Aspartame can decrease insulin sensitivity. Not a good thing for Diabetics
Processed diet foods contain aspartame and make it difficult to lose weight.
If you have a history of depression, aspartame can further impact your moods.
So, want to know what happened to my client? She returned after 3 weeks and was walking without a cane and her vision had improved.
It turns out she did not have MS, she had Lyme Disease!
Have you considered eating whole foods and eliminating sweeteners?
I would love to know.

What did you add to your coffee or tea this AM?
Consider: Using Aspartame and artificial sweeteners can cause the following and more:
Reduce your immune system
Cause inflammation
Increased Headaches and Migraines
Depression
Weight gain due to increased appetite (addiction)
increased Diabetes risk
Increased risk for Cancer
Memory loss
increased incidence of IBS and Crohn's
Affect the Central Nervous System: MS, ticks, anxiety
Is what you are putting in your coffee worth the risk?
Isn't there an alternative that is safer?
SHOP WITH YOUR EYES! READ THE INGREDIENTS!
A study released this month shows a link between artificial sweeteners and cancer, even after controlling for factors known to contribute to cancer, including age, weight gain, physical activity and family history of cancer.

Our Medical System is Broken.
If your debilitating or chronic symptoms have ever been misdiagnosed, overlooked, or dismissed, you know this.
Consider this: If a doctor cannot make a diagnosis quickly or if the symptoms appear elusive, the patient is often considered a hypochondriac or has Hysteria.
Also, consider this: Chronic pain is diagnosed in 90% of patients with what is now being called Hypermobile EDS. (Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome). Have you heard of this?
Two weeks ago, I spent riveted to
One of the lectures that I found particularly fascinating was about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
I had the chance to hear from Dr. Alena Guggenheim, ND, at The Forum lol for Integrative Medicine conference. I was fascinated by the similarities to my clients suffering from Chronic Lyme Disease and Chronic Fatigue/ME Syndrome, Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia et al.
As Dr. Guggenheim explained, EDS patients are often questioned and JUDGED healthy! Often they are given a psychiatric disorder, belittled, and blamed, especially with women who look fit and are dismissed.
How frustrating.
Why does this happen so often? Because our medical paradigm is broken.
Physicians have to answer to the insurance companies, hospitals that employ them, and big pharma rather than the patient sitting in front of them.
Does this sound familiar? There are ways you can navigate this messy system.
Do you know someone with a mystery illness? Have they (or you) given up?

I want to shout from the rooftops. Today, March 11, 2021, is the first anniversary of my diagnosis of ovarian cancer... 4:00 pm to be exact. (You remember details with things like this, don't you?)
I was in remission by October 28, 2021. So now I have a new job.
My job today, and every day, is to do everything I can to avoid a recurrence.
For me this means:
· Following a Keto for Cancer Diet
· Starting Mistletoe therapy (Yes, like mistletoe at Christmas Time. There are many kinds).
· Bimonthly IV therapy with Vit C and other vitamins
· A post-chemo oral program to prevent recurrence (40 supplements a day)
· Exercise
· Practicing being Joyful!
· Praying every day
I have learned even more about how my clients have struggled.
From this past year, I have found G-D and feel so blessed to be alive every single day.
From this, my passion and determination to live and thrive are even more significant.
From this, I am inspired to earn my certification in the Metabolic Approach to Cancer Program, which is a one-year in-depth program.
From this, I am empowered to help women with breast and ovarian cancer.
From this, I can honestly say to my clients we CAN do this.
Thank you to all of my family, friends, and colleagues that have supported me on this journey!

I went to war when I heard those three words: YOU HAVE CANCER!
UKRAINE WENT TO WAR when PUTIN ACTIVATED HIS THREAT.
Are there similarities?
In each case, there are wins and losses
I had planned to share my struggle with HAIR LOSS from chemo. But I am uncertain if it is ok to share this, given the circumstances today in the world.
Will you just consider me vain?
Is this insensitive?
Is this even of interest to you?
Fighting for your life makes you do things you never thought you could/would. Me? Bald? I was OCD about my hair. But of course, I would willingly let my hair go if it meant being healthy!
The incredible Ukrainian people are picking up guns, fighting for their lives, and doing things they never thought they would for life and freedom.
I created an incredible team with my Oncologist, my Functional Medicine Physician, my Herbalist, my Hypnotherapist, and MYSELF. Together we were united in an outcome: for me to emerge Cancer Free.
The Ukraine People are seeking Peace.
I am seeking Sustained Health
So, today, I will not talk about my hair loss, but thinking about that has brought me full circle to THE WAR I HAVE FOUGHT AND THE WAR THEY ARE FIGHTING.
Do you agree with me? People do different things when they are fighting for their lives?

I want you to know something. Cancer is not a Death Sentence.
In fact, when I was diagnosed, dying never crossed my mind.
I know, Cancer is frightening! But so many times, doctors use language that makes it sound as though your treatments must happen immediately...or else.
That puts the doctor in the driver's seat and the patient taking orders. It's understandable why you are worried the end is near.
Wait a minute! You are being conditioned to be afraid.
This is your body. This is your life!
Your relationship with your doctor needs to be a partnership, and you need more information.
Perhaps you have other ideas and thoughts. So take back control!
Here are a few questions I recommend you ask your doctor to establish a more even-handed dynamic:
1: What would YOU do if they were in your position?
2: What treatments can you NOT provide?
3: Are you open to integrative therapies?
Then, listen to what they tell you.
If you don't feel they are open to other therapies, you can (and SHOULD) shop around for an oncologist.
I did. And I found one that met my needs and put me at ease!
Don't hand over the keys to your body because you are afraid.
Do you ever feel pressured by what the doctor is telling you?
