Soooo, don’t mind my crazy facial expressions in these photos … 😂
A kind stranger offered to take pictures and just started snapping… and I didn’t check them before I left. So here we are.

But I had to post this moment.

Today at the IVAT Trauma Conference I met Roman De Peralta, lead singer of Kolohe Kai — and I’m a huge fan.

He shared how mental health treatment helped him through difficult seasons in life and how those experiences shaped his music, including Round and Around, a song about not giving up.

What struck me most was hearing him thank the mental health professionals in the room for the healing work we do.

Because honestly…
his music and that incredible voice have had the same healing effect on me and so many others.

Also a full circle moment for me — when I first moved to Hawai‘i in 2008, Kolohe Kai’s music was part of the soundtrack of that chapter of my life.

Healing through music.
Healing through people.

A beautiful cycle that goes round and around. 🎶

If you’re getting married later in life... this isn’t your first chapter.
You have history.
You have opinions from other people.
You may have adult children, exes, or expectations that feel heavier than the dress.
That’s exactly why I created Anchor Café.
It’s a small, intentional space for later-in-life brides to pause, breathe, and protect their peace while planning their wedding.
We’re not talking about centerpieces.
We’re talking about boundaries.
Emotional safety. Love deeply.
And how to stay anchored in joy during this season.
lan intentionally.
If that sounds like what you need.. l’d love to have you join us.

Later-in-life brides carry more than a bouquet.

You carry history.
You carry blended families.
You carry grief that doesn’t disappear just because you’re in love again.
You carry an identity you’ve spent decades building.

And that’s why this season deserves steadiness — not overwhelm.

Anchor Café isn’t about planning centerpieces.
It’s about protecting your peace.

If you’re navigating engagement with adult children, honoring deceased parents, or quietly asking, “Who am I becoming in this next chapter?” — this workshop is for you.

✨ Move from engagement to “I do” with emotional steadiness.
✨ Leave with your Personal Anchor Plan.
✨ Learn grounding rituals you can use immediately.

Loving someone doesn’t mean abandoning yourself.

You can be compassionate and still be clear.
You can be supportive and still say no.
You can be deeply in love and still protect your peace.

Boundaries aren’t walls.
They’re anchors.

Especially in later-in-life relationships, blended families, second chances, and long histories — emotional steadiness matters.

Healthy love includes limits.

If this resonates, save this as a reminder 🤍

Black mental wellness deserves visibility — not just for a day, but every day.

This Black History Month, we’ve elevated diverse voices and reinforced that mental health equity is essential to health, safety, and opportunity.

On , our commitment continues.

So honored to share space with powerful women at the Professional Women’s Network Hawaiʻi 💛

Today I had the opportunity to share my work around love later in life, caregiving, and protecting your peace through major transitions.

When women gather with intention, growth happens. Community is an anchor.
