Many years ago, my meditation practice was nonexistent. I didn’t know how to approach it. The times I tried, I would fall asleep and I was very inconsistent with it.

I get it. Who has even time to sit down and “do nothing”? After many years of the proper guidance and training, I have learned many valuable lessons, and my current meditation practice is paramount to my self-care practice.

🧎🏽‍♀️The most important lesson is that meditation is anything but “do nothing.” Master Danny, one of the 8 Pranic Healing Masters, shares that when we pray, we talk to God. But, when meditate, God talks to us. So meditation is the perfect way to listen in.

🧘🏽‍♀️Another important lesson I’ve learned is that we don’t have time for anything. We make time for everything. You can get a lot from only 10 minutes of quiet meditation.

Guru Purnima is a traditional spiritual festival to honor and express gratitude to one’s gurus or spiritual teachers. The word “Guru” means teacher or guide, and “Purnima” means full moon. So, Guru Purnima literally translates to “the full moon dedicated to the Guru.”

No capes required. Just like we tend to aggrandize or dramatize what change should look like, we also have this low key expectation that courage or letting go should look a certain way. After almost 11 years in the healing and coaching field, I can tell you that clients who succeed in their journey of change and healing start with this: curiosity and openness. So don’t avoid healing just because you think you don’t have the courage or that you simply can’t let go of whatever it is that’s weighing you down. If you’re reading this, it means you’re searching for answers and that’s what brought you here. Deep down, you know change needs to happen, right? So follow it. Suffering becomes challenging when we let it attach to our emotions and those emotions become rampant and start taking over your thoughts and behaviors. I absolutely love this quote from my beloved teacher, Master Choa Kok Sui, the modern founder of Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. Take a minute to read it and analyze it for yourself. I say that because change comes from the self realization that our challenges are illusions.
