About Black Pearl Health & Wellness

I am originally from the most beautiful city in the south, Savannah, GA known for its beautiful architecture and rich American history. Growing up as a Savannahnian I was taught how to cook and take care of a home by my wonderful mother Gwen. My mother gave me everything from sewing lessons to cooking lessons. By age 12 I could cook up a pot of collard greens like nobody's business! Without her training, this new venture of mine would not be possible. Long before I had ever heard of the now famous Black Pearl ship featured in the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the term was near and dear to me. Throughout my childhood my father often referred to me as his "Black Pearl". At a very young age the 1st man in my life had given me a solid lesson about life as a women through a simple, yet lofty nickname. The lesson was simple, you are a SPECIAL GIRL and you deserve to be treated like a rare piece of fine jewelry, with the utmost love and respect. In 2012, I lost my father to the "Big C"-Cancer. (I effing hate Cancer), but his legacy and life teachings will forever be with me. He was my biggest cheerleader, always encouraging me to sail hard and fast and sometimes......against the wind. For that I am thankful and I miss him dearly. I also met my wonderful husband, Tony “Polo” Jordan in Savannah. In 2003 we started a non-profit for at-risk youth, AWOL All Walks of Life, Inc. and through our community work drummed up a lot of success for some pretty deserving kids. We have our own two sons, Caleb and Daniel. My son Caleb is diagnosed with Autism and is the smartest and sweetest boy I know. Caleb is also a big part of the reason I became a DIY, organic and natural product phenatic in attempt to use natural remedies to help my son overcome the effects of autism. So it is only fitting that I embark on a new journey in my life , as mother, wife, friend and social change change maker. Black Pearl Health & Wellness chronicles my journey to the other side----- a new era featuring a healthier, happier and skinnier version of me! The voyage which I share with you is replete with weight loss, diet changes, and a passion for making the best hand crafted organic products for my family and anyone else who dares to throw caution to the wind and decide to LIVE WELL!

Last week, I had the pleasure of having my sister friend Dominique E'lon ( )
perform my first therapeutic Reiki session, and it was needed, appreciated and so healing for my troubled little spirit. 2023 was one of my toughest years, life was living! The end result left my body, mind, and spirit beaten down pretty badly.

The session not only provided spiritual healing it also identified a health issue that I was unaware was affecting my energy level. Elon reported swelling in my right ankle during our post-session debrief and I reported it to my P*P. Fortunately, I had just had some blood work done because I was feeling off. One day after the session, I received a note from my nurse stating that I was anemic. Thus the fatigue and ankle swelling. I think it safe to say that I will be making her service a regular part of my self-care.

Now watching...Pet Fooled. I’m 10 minutes into this documentary and already mad. 🤬 Capitalism while a highly beneficial concept for some it's a killer for most. Loosing my Gabriel was unexpected and broke my heart into a million pieces. He was only 9 years old and I could not even tell you what exactly happen, but I think it was his food. He was on Purina at the time. I will not let it happen to Roman if I can help it. Dogs don't live forever but we can give them the best possible life with us by staying informed. Please share with other pet owners.
