I love country preachers... but not Televangelists “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.” Mark 10: 17 – 21 My late wife grew up playing piano in a small Methodist church in a middle Georgia town of 600 people. Her mother was the long-time treasurer of that institution. They both loved that church and for good reason....

Sudan and Nigeria I applaud international and US groups which want to end needless slaughter overseas. Peaceful protests are one way of expressing indignation and obtaining meaningful change. However, the efforts of these groups must be balanced-and they have not been. The Jewish state of Israel has been singled out by the left while mass slaughters in the Sudan and Nigeria have been ignored by both the right and left....

Incredible energy, organizing and advocacy today at the Hill.

Physicians from across the country gathered to demand a reversal of the healthcare cuts, an end to the WISeR model, fighting inequities perpetuated by Medicare Advantage, and adoption of a single payer, Medicare for All system.

So grateful to Lucy, Sunny, and Anish from Representative Williams, McBath, and Johnson’s office who doubled down on their commitment to protecting our patients care and improving our system.

The work is just beginning!

Creating a disaster for our kids This column is designed to do one thing- make the reader think about the financial mess that we are leaving our children and grandchildren. The column is nonpartisan… because both parties are responsible for the creation of this impending catastrophe. My firm opinion is that, purposefully, neither party has boiled down the data in an understandable form....

Rep. Brian Jack- Charlie Kirk wanted open dialogue, free speech “Charlie (Kirk) led a movement that was organized through the simple principle of respectful political discourse...built around direct, civil dialogue... Until yesterday...May his voice and approach to free speech be remembered for generations to come.” - Rep. Brian Jack I do not agree with Rep. Jack on much; he is a Washington swamp creature who simply parrots whatever misleading dribble Trump is advocating on any given day....

"Partisan Politics Have No Place in Peachtree City"; As I have stated numerous times, Peachtree City is a wonderful place to live. There are reasons we have won numerous awards. Our quality of life is excellent. One reason is that we have solid leaders locally. And that is why the upcoming Peachtree City election concerns me. Several candidates for this municipal election are saying our community has overwhelming problems......

Peaceful understanding must be our next step By Jack Bernard, contributing columnist PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. | Politically motivated killing is inexcusable. It is murder. Bernard In the last decade, it has become common for people on both the right and left to excuse violence committed against leaders who represent the other side. In a democracy, political violence is wrong, period. Under the First Amendment of the Constitution, Americans have the right to free speech....

Government shutdown 101- healthcare "All Congressional Democrats want to do is enact Radical Left Policies that nobody voted for."- President Trump about the Democrats and the shutdown By the time this column runs, I am assuming that the US government will be in complete shutdown mode.
