⭐ MEET THE ARTISTS ⭐

Throughout the voting period for the 2026 Peachtree T-shirt Design Contest, we’re highlighting the individual artists who made it to the final five. Today, we’re featuring Jose Hadathy, designer of “Look Closer, Atlanta.”

Jose Hadathy is an Atlanta-based illustrator and graphic designer whose work is deeply rooted in both sport and culture. Born in Quito, Ecuador and raised in Atlanta from a young age, he studied Illustration and Fine Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta before building a career that now spans more than a decade. Currently serving as Creative Design Manager for Atlanta United FC, Hadathy has become a prominent voice in the city’s creative sports scene, with recent highlights including designing the official FIFA World Cup 2026 Atlanta Host City Poster.

The Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race holds special meaning for Hadathy, both professionally and personally. A longtime admirer of the race’s iconic T-shirt tradition, he saw this year’s contest as a full-circle moment, coinciding with the World Cup’s arrival in Atlanta and his own recovery from a knee injury. As a first-time race participant and finalist designer, his “Look Closer Atlanta” design celebrates the landmarks along Peachtree Road, cleverly spelling out the race’s namesake and honoring one of Atlanta’s most enduring traditions.

“Being a finalist for the shirt design while training for my first race makes this experience more than just a design project,” he said. “It’s the celebration of getting back on my feet alongside the rest of the city.”

You can vote for your favorite design once a day, every day until April 10 in the AJC News app! Download today at https://qr1.be/RXTD

A new dad. A big goal. A lasting impact.

Lee Allan is taking on the 2026 Boston Marathon while fundraising for the Atlanta Track Club Foundation, and his “why” stretches far beyond the finish line. The Foundation supports programs that make running and walking accessible for all ages and abilities. One of the ways the Foundation fuels the future is through Kilometer Kids, a free running youth program that teaches kids about healthy habits, respect and community through the sport of running.

Now that Lee has stepped into the role of “Dad,” he is thinking about the experiences that shaped his own childhood: youth sports, friendships, lessons learned and the joy of working toward something bigger. He wants more kids across our community to have those same opportunities and feel that same sense of belonging.

When you donate to Lee’s fundraiser, you are helping create more moments where kids can show up, try something new and discover what they are capable of — one lap, one practice, one finish line at a time.

Help fuel Lee’s journey to Boston and invest in the next generation of Running City USA.

Karen Hampton never thought she would run the Boston Marathon. Now, she's running it for something bigger than herself.

Karen Hampton’s journey with Atlanta Track Club started by volunteering at the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race in high school. She spent years cheering others on, never imagining she would one day become a runner — let alone someone who would complete the Peachtree year after year since 1994, rack up 17 marathons, more than 60 half marathons and countless other finish lines along the way.

Karen proudly calls herself a “back of the pack” runner, and her story is proof that running is for everyone. Now, thanks to the support of her community and the opportunity to fundraise for the Atlanta Track Club Foundation, she is headed to the 2026 Boston Marathon — a lifelong dream and a powerful chance to pay it forward.

When you donate to Karen’s campaign, you are not just supporting her journey to Boston. You are helping fuel the Foundation’s work to build an active and healthy Atlanta through running and walking.

Every step matters. Every dollar helps.
