When you find yourself experiencing burnout, you may be hearing a lot from your inner critic. Your inner critic is that voice inside your mind that suggests judgmental comments about how you’re not doing a good enough job. This inner critic can leave you feeling guilty and ashamed - for not getting more stuff done, and for not taking care of yourself better.

So how do you get rid of that inner critic? You practice listening to your inner compassionate voice instead. And while the inner critic works hard to drown your compassionate self out, our latest blog post will show you how to bring that compassion to the fore. Click the link to learn how to:

1) Notice how you feel, what you want, and what is important to you.

2) Practice speaking to yourself compassionately, and

3) Regroup to decide what is best for yourself.

If you struggle to listen to your compassionate voice over your inner critic, psychotherapy can help. You don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Schedule a consultation call today.

I can’t count how many times I hear “yeah, but that one time...” in my office and in my personal life. Let’s not make that one exception that happens to reinforce our worries, the rule or norm or expectation because it’s not realistic. It’s an excellent way to put our inner saboteur in charge who doesn’t always have our best interest in mind.

My breath is my anchor. When things get chaotic, I can ground myself with my breath. No matter where I am, that’s something I always have with me. Mindfulness: gently bringing your mind to wherever your feet are.
