Mindful Eating During the Holidays

As the holidays approach, we often look forward to sharing meals, laughter, and memories with loved ones. But for many, it’s also a season where maintaining healthy habits can be challenging. Mindful eating offers a balanced approach, allowing you to enjoy holiday treats without compromising on wellness.

Here are some tips to help you stay grounded and nourished through the festivities:

1. Don’t Skip Meals
It may be tempting to “save” calories for a big holiday dinner by skipping meals, but this can disrupt blood sugar levels and slow metabolism. Going long periods without eating can make you hungrier and more prone to overeat. Instead, enjoy balanced meals throughout the day to keep your energy steady.

2. Prioritize a Protein-Packed Breakfast
Start your day with a high-protein breakfast to stabilize blood sugar and keep you feeling satisfied. Including protein in your morning meal.

3. Avoid Restricting Entire Food Groups
Resisting certain foods entirely can increase cravings, making it harder to stay mindful when those foods are present. Embrace balance by allowing yourself a variety of foods in moderation.

4. Focus on Whole, Natural Foods
Whenever possible, choose whole and organic options over processed foods.

5. Color Your Plate with Vegetables
Including a variety of colorful vegetables adds nutrients, fiber, and volume to your meals.

6. Stay Active and Keep Moving

From Selfless to Strong: Colleen’s Inspiring Transformation Journey

When Colleen first joined the program, her focus had always been on her family. Her kids came first, and her own health and happiness often came last. But when she was selected for an all-inclusive transformation program through Eastpointe Health & Fitness — complete with personalized training, nutrition coaching, and full membership access — everything changed.

From the start, Colleen embraced the process. Group Fitness Survey Results - Thank You for Your Feedback!

A big thank-you to everyone who participated in our 2025 Group Fitness Class Survey! Your input helps us continue to make the EPH&F Group Fitness Program the best it can be.

Here’s a quick look at what you told us:
• 28 members shared their thoughts either through our online survey or paper.
• Overall satisfaction was outstanding — 84% of participants said they were Very or Extremely Satisfied with the program, and 100% were at least Satisfied with our classes, instructors, and facilities.
• The top requests for expanded offerings were Body Sculpting (48%), Pilates Stretch (36%), and Yoga (32%).
• Early and late mornings (especially 9–10am) were the most preferred times for classes on both weekdays and weekends.
• Instructor ratings were exceptional, with the majority receiving Excellent or Very Good reviews.
• Nearly all respondents said they’d recommend their favorite classes and instructors — a true testament to the community we’ve built together!

And the Winner is .......
BIG Losses Announced in the first ever Fall Wingman Accountability Challenge and over $2,000 in cash & prizes distributed!

On September 22, the 2025 Fall Wingman Accountability Challenge kicked off with 19 teams—38 participants total—competing to lose the most body fat while gaining muscle. Participants received personalized coaching in exercise, nutrition, and mindset to support their fitness goals. The program began with a workshop designed to help members achieve the most effective results. Throughout the challenge, participants also received weekly motivational emails, access to online forums, and a variety of web-based resources—all aimed at providing the critical support proven to boost success rates.

Final Results and Awards!
On November 2, the program came to a close, and all final weigh-ins were completed. The results spoke for themselves—over 140 pounds of fat lost—a true testament to everyone’s dedication and hard work!

We announced the winners on November 5 and continue to celebrate everyone’s achievements while encouraging members to keep their momentum going as we head toward the next challenge. In addition to the body composition champions, we also recognized our biweekly physical challenge winners, the team with the most combined check-ins, and more!

A huge thank-you from all of us at Eastpointe to our incredible participants—congratulations on a job well done!

Member Spotlight: Finding Strength, Community, and Confidence at Eastpointe; Jacqlyn’s Transformation

Before joining Eastpointe, my fitness routine had completely fallen apart. After COVID and moving from Hoboken, I slipped into a long stretch of inactivity and knew I needed accountability. More than anything, I wanted to rebuild my strength and feel confident in my body again.

From the moment I joined in March, I connected with the Shore Results model and the amazing community. Roy’s programs keep me progressing, and Barry’s Sunday strength class challenges me in the best way (I’ll never forget that 450lb sled!). Every session has helped me move forward, lifting heavier, improving my form, or simply showing up consistently.

Now, I feel strong, proud, and motivated. What once felt like an uphill climb has turned into something I truly look forward to. Eastpointe has become a place where I can challenge myself, celebrate progress, and be surrounded by great people. It’s been such a positive experience, and I’m excited to keep building on it.
