Today marks Rob Kretzinger’s final day as president and CEO of WesleyLife.

After nearly 30 years of leadership, including more than two decades as president and CEO, Rob concludes a tenure defined by vision, service, growth, and a deep belief in what aging can and should be.

Under Rob’s leadership, WesleyLife grew from five retirement communities serving about 1,000 people to Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive nonprofit provider of health and well-being services for older adults, supporting more than 13,000 people each year. But his legacy extends far beyond numbers. Rob challenged us to confront ageism, think differently about health and well-being, protect what matters most, and continue evolving in service to those we support.

As we give thanks for Rob’s leadership, we invite you to read this tribute reflecting on his impact and the future he helped make possible.

This week, 4 residents and 4 team members embarked on a memorable trip to Pella! 🌷
It was a busy and fulfilling 3 days spent soaking in all that Pella has to offer. We stayed in the beautiful Cordova Cabins right on Lake Red Rock. Here’s a recap of what we did!

Day 1, we visited Vermeer Corporation, learned all about the Vermeer family business and toured their newly renovated museum! That evening, we enjoyed George’s Pizza on the patio of our beautiful cabin!

Day 2 started off with a cabin breakfast and a scenic bus tour of historic Pella in the morning, followed by a walking tour of Central College, and a delicious lunch in their cafeteria. After lunch, it was time for a bus trip to a Wildlife Refuge where we were able to see free roaming Buffalo and Elk! Then, we enjoyed a beautiful walk along the Red Rock Dam on the Volksweg Trail, and ended our day with a treat from Jersey Freeze Ice Cream and a cookout at the cabin!

Day 3, we fit in as much excitement as we could before heading home! And by excitement, we mean heading to the top of the Vermeer Mill, Iowa’s largest working mill! Afterward, we stepped back in time, strolling through Pella’s Historical Village, and even visited the Wyatt Erp home! We ended our morning with a delicious lunch from the Clover Leaf before making our journey home!

Thank you to Hearthstone-A Ministry of WesleyLifefor being such great hosts and showing us all around your beautiful hometown! We can hardly wait for next year!

For 30 years, Rob Kretzinger’s leadership has helped shape WesleyLife into Iowa’s largest and most comprehensive nonprofit provider of health and well-being services for older adults.

On May 14, residents, clients, team members, business partners, friends, and family members gathered at Edgewater to celebrate Rob’s remarkable impact, reflect on WesleyLife’s growth, and offer gratitude for the thousands of lives touched by his vision, mentorship, and mission-driven service.

Rob will retire as president and CEO on June 1 and will continue to support WesleyLife as senior advisor.

This years 2026 Pella group has hit the road! Have a fun trip! We can’t wait to hear about it when you get back. 😊

Each year, Heritage House takes 4-5 residents to Pella on a 2 night, 3 day vacation. Residents stay in a cabin overlooking Lake Red Rock and spend their 3 days jam packed with sight seeing, food, and great company! We love creating opportunities for all of these wonderful people!

Today we celebrated the love of a mother at our third annual Mother’s Day Tea! Complete with stunning tea sets from residents’ collections, tea sandwiches, desserts, and a surprise special video featuring Mother’s Day wishes from daughters, sons, and grandchildren to their loved one at Heritage House ❤️

This is one of our favorite days at Heritage House each year. It’s an honor to celebrate the wonderful women we have in our presence. ❤️
