Today, we are highlighting Aircare II’s very own, Jamie Kilcrease. Jamie has been in HEMS (helicopter EMS) for the last 6 years of his career. He has over 20 years of experience between flight and working local emergency rooms. You can still catch him at Atmore Community Hospital as an ER nurse! Jamie is a local in these parts and grew up in Perdido and settled in Brewton.

We asked Jamie a few questions, and this is what he had to say.

What’s your favorite thing about your job? “I get to take a nap sometimes, and I get to be a cool kid.” For those of you who don’t know, we work 24-hour shifts, so those safety naps are a MUST to remain on our game.

Where did you attend college? “I went to Jeff Davis and Western Governor for nursing degrees, and then Lurleen B. Wallace for my paramedic degree.” Yes, Jamie is certified as a nurse and paramedic, and he works in both roles.

What is your favorite sport/team? “Auburn and the Atlanta Braves.”

Do you have any pets? “A great dane.”

Who was your childhood hero? “My dad.” Jamie gets his love of motorcycles from his old man, and he has passed on the love to his twin sons. Yes, he has TWIN sons.

How do you decompress after a long day of work? “I usually run or workout.” Jamie has competed in many local 5k events! You might of caught him at the last Williams Station Day running in his flight suit after his shift! Talk about dedication...

We could not agree more with Veronica! We believe Kelly is truly amazing at taking care of her patients. If you or anyone you know ever needs any occupational therapy, then Kelly is your therapist you need! She is the only occupational therapist in Atmore, but even if she wasn’t you would still want to see her! We can’t say enough positives about her. Come see the ACH difference today!
