Congratulations to our August employee of the month, Lisa Moore. Lisa is our Senior Patient Care Manager. She has been a registered nurse for 6 years, 5 of those being in hospice, and a part of the SouthernCare Atmore family for 3 years, previously working in the field as a case manager. Lisa was chosen for her mentorship to her co -workers, adaptability, and her consistent positive attitude in the office regardless of what she is facing outside of work. She is our go to girl for all things medicine and willing to answer any and all questions we have with no complaints! Thank you, Lisa, for all your do for our patients, families, and staff. We love and appreciate you!

Happy Customer Appreciation Week!

This week, we have been celebrating "the heart of what we do." Our team has carefully thought of all past and present patients, families, physicians, friends, our community, as well as previous and current staff who have touched us in some way while serving in hospice care. Each name represents a unique story that our hearts continue to hold.

Our greatest gift we can give is allowing our patients to leave this world the same way they entered it - with care and love. What a privilege it is to be a part of our patients and their families' stories. Here is to honoring the ones who we not only serve but serve our hearts.

Also, a big thank you to our volunteer, Kasey Jo, for her hard work in drawing our sign. We have celebrated all week with a staff luncheon, memories, and goody baskets for some of our wonderful referral sources.

Say hello to our April Employee of the Month, Brigitte Covington!

Brigitte is one of our RN case managers and has been a part of the SouthernCare Atmore family since December 2021. She has been a nurse for 30 years, working in LTC, acute care, and management. Brigitte transitioned to hospice because she wanted to get back to direct patient care and remember why she became a nurse. When asked why hospice, Brigitte said, "I find hospice to be very fulfilling and rewarding. To be able to get to know your patients and their families so intimately and be a part of a very special journey that you are helping them navigate is truly something special."

Brigitte, also known by her co-workers as "Presh," is truly that precious. She has a heart of gold and shines bright when it comes to caring for her patients. Brigitte is the definition of "calm and collected" and handles all tasks thrown her way with ease. We are so blessed to have her as part of our team and for all of her hard work!
