Poarch Creek Recreation The Recreation Department manages the Tribe's recreational facilities, in particular the gymnasium, Programs are offered for both adults and children.

The Recreation Department was established to promote health, wellness, and physical fitness for all Tribal members. The department manages the Tribe's Recreational facilities, particularly the gymnasium, pool, weight room, and sports complex, which includes two t-ball fields, two softball fields, two baseball fields, and one football field surrounded by an asphalt track. The Recreation Department

has grown considerably to accommodate the new programs and activities that are being offered to the Community. These Programs include t-ball, softball, baseball, basketball, pee wee football, co-ed softball, volleyball leagues, dance class, Senior Olympics, and senior activities. Improvements made to the sports complex and gymnasium includes a new baseball field, a new weight room facility, and a new batting cage.

🏈🔥 YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 🔥🏈

It’s game time! Registration for our Youth Flag Football league starts TODAY and runs through May 22nd!

👦👧 Ages: 5–16
💲 Cost: $40 per player

Practices are expected to begin June 8th, with the season running June 29th– August 6th.

Join Reid State for a fun-filled morning of baseball instruction, drills, and games for young athletes of all skill levels!

MEMORANDUM
RE: Native Youth Classic and Native Classic Eligibility & Tournament Updates

The Recreation Department would like to address several questions and misconceptions regarding the Native Youth Classic & Native Classic eligibility guidelines and recent tournament changes.

To clarify eligibility requirements:

Tribal members and first-generation participants are NOT included in the three non-indigenous player allowance.
The three non-indigenous spots are intended for second-generation participants, children from tribal households, or non-indigenous players.
Every decision regarding the Native Youth Classic & Native Classic has involved extensive discussion and consideration centered around supporting our youth, families, and community while ensuring the tournament remains successful.

We respectfully encourage community members to bring questions, concerns, and suggestions directly to Recreation staff or the Recreation board through constructive communication.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a former board member Josh Thomas. His years of dedicated service to our Recreation Department helped shape programs and opportunities that continue to benefit our community today.

Josh gave continuous hours as a board member as well as a coach, he was always working behind the scenes to make things better for others. His commitment, leadership, and steady presence will not be forgotten.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you, Josh, for everything you gave your impact will be felt for generations.
