A public awareness campaign has been launched that uses the word FAST to remind people of the signs of stroke and to encourage them to seek medical attention quickly if they are experiencing any of these symptoms.

F=Face: is one side of the face drooping?
A=Arm: can the person raise both arms or is one weak?
S=Speech: is their speech slurred or confusing?
T= Time: time is CRITICAL, call 9-1-1 immediately.
