Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Therapist to provide mental health services across four K–12 schools in Cherokee County, AL. This role is essential in supporting the emotional, behavioral, and social well-being of students through direct counseling services, collaboration with school staff, and partnership with families.

Qualifications (Required)
Applicants must hold one of the following active Alabama licenses:
• ALC – Associate Licensed Counselor
• LICSW – Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
• LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
Additional requirements:
• Must carry independent professional malpractice insurance
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for required travel
• Ability to pass background checks and all school district onboarding requirements

Position Responsibilities
Direct Student Services:
• Provide individual, group, and crisis counseling to students across four K–12 school locations
• Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions
Collaboration & Communication:
• Coordinate caseload needs and scheduling with the Mental Health Coordinator
• Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including administrators, teachers, school resource officers , and juvenile probation
• Participate in school meetings, IEP/504 teams when appropriate, and collaborative care planning
Documentation & Compliance:
• Complete all clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all state, federal, and school district regulations
• Track services, progress, and outcomes according to agency policies
Travel Requirement:
• Travel to four school sites in Cherokee County 4 days per week
• Provide consistent on-site support and maintain dependable scheduling across locations
