Hello all! As you may have heard, today Rite Aid announced that they will be closing all of their pharmacy locations in NY state. While this wasn't totally unexpected (they've been in bankruptcy since 2023), it is still a very sad day for the employees and long time customers who have built relationships with one another over the years. Increasingly poor reimbursement from the Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) like Express Scripts, CVS Caremark and Optum is without a doubt the main reason for these closures and for the financial difficulties for pharmacies in general. We at Attica Pharmacy are hopeful that there is change on the horizon with proposed legislation that will regulate these monopolistic companies, and we certainly plan to be around for the long haul!
If you are someone looking for a new pharmacy due to the impending closure of Rite Aid, we are right here in the village of Attica! Give us a try, you won't be dissapointed! We recommend contacting your doctor(s) office(s) and having them send new scripts over to us as soon as possible. We will have them on file for when you need them.
