It’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Awareness Week, a time to recognize the programs that help people with chronic lung conditions breathe easier and live fuller lives.

Pulmonary rehabilitation combines supervised exercise, education, and support to help individuals manage symptoms from conditions like COPD, improve lung function, and regain strength and confidence in everyday activities.

At Sturdy Health, programs like BreatheFITT provide patients with personalized guidance and training to help them build endurance, strengthen their lungs, and take control of their respiratory health.

Today is the World Day of Muslim Culture, Peace, Dialogue, and Film, a time dedicated to learning, sharing, and fostering understanding of Muslim culture around the world.

At Sturdy Health, we believe that caring for our communities also means embracing the diversity of cultures, traditions, and perspectives that shape them. Observances like this one encourage meaningful dialogue, promote peace, and help build bridges of understanding across faiths and backgrounds.

One way to mark the day is by exploring the richness of Muslim culture — watch a film by a Muslim filmmaker, experience the beauty of Islamic art such as calligraphy, music, or dance, or seek out local events that celebrate Muslim culture and encourage open dialogue.

By learning from one another and celebrating our shared humanity, we help create stronger, more connected communities.

🚨 Rhode Island Blood Center Declares a Blood Emergency 🚨
The recent historic winter storm cost our region more than 1,500 blood donations, forcing widespread drive cancellations, donor center closures, and travel disruptions across the state. Our region now has less than a two-day blood supply, well below the seven-day level needed to support local hospitals.
While regular operations have resumed, rebuilding the blood inventory will take time. Local patients—trauma victims, surgery patients, and those fighting cancer—are at risk.
Your donation can help close the gap. Schedule a donation near you today: donate.ribc.org/donor/schedules/zip

When we team up, we move the needle on patient safety — creating the safest possible environment for every patient, every time.

Colorectal cancer rates are rising among younger adults, but there are steps everyone can take to reduce their risk.

In a recent Sun Chronicle article, Sturdy Health gastroenterologist Nithin Karanth, MD, discusses the increase in colorectal cancer diagnoses in younger patients, as well as the growing number of precancerous polyps detected during colonoscopies.

Knowing the symptoms, staying up to date with recommended screenings, and speaking with your doctor are key to prevention and early detection.
