Let’s set the record straight, mama 👇

❌ Myth 1: “If they can stick their tongue out, it’s not tied.”
👉 It’s about elevation of the muscle, not forward movement.

❌ Myth 2: “They’ll grow out of it.”
👉 Teathered tissues cannot stretch and many kids grow into bigger problems including mouth breathing, feeding difficulties, speech delays, and more.

❌ Myth 3: “If it was tied, the doctor would’ve caught it.”
👉 Tongue ties are often missed without a functional oral exam. Pediatricians may not be trained to assess this fully.

❌ Myth 4: “It’s only a problem if they can’t breastfeed.”
👉 Tongue ties can affect bottle feeding, solids, speech, airway development, and oral posture long after the baby stage.

❌ Myth 5: “Just clip it and you’re good.”
👉 A release is just one part of the puzzle, therapy and follow-up are key to long-term function and success.

💡 Early intervention = long-term impact.
If something feels “off,” trust your gut and get a proper evaluation. We’re here to guide you every step of the way. 💛

Your child may not remember every dental visit… but they’ll remember how it felt to be safe, to feel seen, and to be gently cared for by a team that truly understands them. 💛

That’s what we strive for every single day. Because it’s not just about clean teeth, it’s about creating lifelong trust, confidence, and comfort around their health.

Thank you, mama, for letting us be part of your child’s story. We don’t take that lightly. 💙

Let’s talk real-life mom stuff for a sec, cups. Yep, the ones your child drinks from every day. 🥤

I know how easy it is to grab a hard-spout sippy cup (we’ve all been there), but the truth is those cups can actually interfere with your little one’s oral development. Things like:

👅 Tongue posture
🦷 Palate and jaw growth
🗣️ Swallowing patterns and even speech later on

That’s why I always recommend starting with open cups or straw cups around 6–12 months. It’s a small change that makes a big difference long-term.

You’re already doing amazing, mama and we’re just here to support you every step (and sip!) of the way. 💙

Mama, we know you watch every milestone, the first smile, first bite, first word. 🥹💛 But did you know your child’s mouth tells us even more?

It shows us how they breathe at night, how they chew and swallow their food, how their little face is growing and developing, and how their body is resting and restoring.

At your child’s visit, we’re not just checking teeth, we’re looking at the whole picture to help your child breathe easier, sleep better, eat well, and thrive.

Because every detail matters when it comes to their health and you deserve a team that sees it all. 💙

As a pediatric dentist, and a mom, I get it.
Summer is for popsicles, pool snacks, and sweet memories. ☀️🍭

But it’s also the season I see the most new cavities. Not because you aren’t brushing… but because those extra snacks and sips sneak up fast.

Here’s what I tell the families in my chair (and practice with my own kids!):

🧃 Juice? Serve it with meals & rinse after.
💧 Water is the best buddy between snacks.
⏰ Try to avoid all-day grazing.
🍽️ Save sticky or sugary treats for mealtime.
🪥 Brush morning AND night (yes, even when you’re camping).
😴 And remember, no milk or juice after brushing at bedtime.

It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being mindful. Healthy habits now = fewer dental visits later (and more summer smiles!). 😄

📅 Need a summer checkup? We’ve got openings before school starts, come see us!
