This photo says it all. It was taken during the final 400 meters of the Boston Marathon—Boylston Street, arguably the most iconic five city blocks in the eyes of every marathon runner. It was in this moment when the finish line was secondary. It was in this moment when my only goal was to find my person. The one behind the scenes who sacrificed it all in order for me to get here. All the post-work long runs, the skipped dinners together, and listening every time I questioned myself whether this year was even possible. At no point did she ask “Do you NEED to run today?” but instead “How was your run today?” Finding you in the midst of the chaos and celebrating the journey we both endured is what it’s all about.
