When I receive a text from Mr. Thompson, the band director at Reeltown High School, it was a surreal return to my musical roots of piano in elementary school and joining the middle school orchestra/band playing the clarinet, which continued into adulthood in various forms. Music has always been a part of my life… in both happy and hard times. My message to these young people was that music can be “that thing” that you enjoy, share with others and can even heal you when you need it. I encourage them to always have a creative outlet, whether it be through music or something other form of self expression.
It has been a true game changer in my life and is the reason why I share sound baths with people today ✨🥰🙏✨
A huge thank you to Susan at Sound Facilitation for guiding our students through a truly unique and restorative sound bath experience. In the middle of the intensity of band camp, it was powerful to pause, breathe, and reconnect through the healing power of music.
We’re so grateful for the opportunity to give our students a new experience and a moment of stillness and reflection before the final push toward the end of camp. It was a reminder of how deeply music can move, center, and restore us.
