In your opinion, are the birth announcements on my page fun to see and would you like to hear more about the birth along with more of the photos if the clients are okay with it? OR do you think brief little birth announcements in stories is a fun way to celebrate and the posts can be highlight photos and informational reels/slides? Thoughts?!

Hi there! I’m so pumped that I get to announce I am now a ✨ Certified Lactation Specialist ✨ and a new headshot is here just in time to share it!

— I have updated pricing for 2026 clients.
— with updated pricing comes a bunch of new things included in the services!
— I have one opening for a December due date, otherwise 2025 is booked! And early 2026 is already filling through March! 😳
— I absolutely love this job and could not be more grateful that so many of you trust me to do it.

Currently: Late lunch with the girls while listening to Cultural Influences on Breastfeeding.

This morning I texted my dietician friend in response to a general “how are you” that I’m feeling like I’m failing nurturing my own body:

“I’m not doing a good job balancing life and taking care of myself. Can’t tell you the last time I took the time to make a legit meal for myself or went to bed before midnight or got good morning light in my eyes. I’m dysregulated* and overwhelmed”

I could go ahead and blame a long list of things for how I am feeling right now. But the above three things should be a foundation of nourishing myself so I can pour into others. I spend a lot of time caring about how moms take care of themselves and I’m not taking my own advice. Consider this my official accountability post that I will do the above things and not only that but I will post one new way I’m choosing to nourish my body each week so you, too, can be encouraged to do so! Here’s to being vulnerable about where we are at and just moving forward to do better! 🫶🏼

“We have a choice to make as women approaching our births. We can enter into it as something to get through, knuckles clenched and eyes squeezed shut, wanting it to be over as quickly as possible, seeing it as a flawed and dreadful design for meeting our babies. Or we can enter into it with our hearts a bit more open, viewing it as the incredibly intelligent design of God himself, the way that He, our loving father, mindfully and intentionally chose to build a family and transform His daughters into mothers.“

I have had a few births this year that have blasted a theme in my head that I feel like it’s important to talk about.

As your doula, it is not my job to make sure you have a natural birth at all costs, It IS my job to make sure you are educated, supported and cared for in the birth that YOU desire.

The book, Reclaiming Childbirth as a Rite of Passage says it best with this quote:

“Disregarding a woman’s preferences in an attempt to protect physiology or rescue her from a cascade of interventions can also cause distress.”

I was blessed to walk alongside & her husband in the birth of their son, Easton. It was learning experience after learning experience together and I was proud to watch her strength and beauty along the way. 🫶🏼

Kind words from clients 🫶🏼

“My husband and I couldn’t have imagined the birth of our daughter without Christie by our side! From the first time we met everything just clicked with her! She was so kind and easy going and we were basically finishing each-others sentences! She’s such a bubbly and down to earth person! The day of delivery she was such a great back bone constantly having my back and doing whatever was best for me. She made sure I knew all the options and could also tell when I’ve had enough and could see and agree when I decided to go a different route than my birth plan! She reads the room so well! My husband says he couldn’t imagine not having her and he recommends her to all his fellow friends expecting! She really made a huge impact with us and hope to have her by our side with future kids!”

ADDED OFFERING 💞

It might seem insignificant, but I promise you its not. I’ve added a *3 month check-in* to my services with my doula package. The more I am educating myself on postpartum mood disorders, healing the body in the first year, breastfeeding, how your life drastically changes, getting prepared to go back to work if you are and allllll the things that come in that time frame, the more I want to be able to offer support by default to growing families! This would look like an in home visit, coffee date, or zoom chat — whatever feels best to you!

On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon I got to photograph ’s second son come into this world alongside . It was so much fun to be able to support them in this way! As a reminder, in general I am a package deal with photography and doula services combined. But if you have already hired a trusted doula and are still interested in photography, you can always inquire about the services alone!

The home birth of baby Michael was full of strength, beauty and serenity. The surrender to how different things can go each time you give birth can be such a hard thing to grasp. Watching David & Allie lean on each other and take each step with stride was an honor. I can’t believe I get paid to witness these moments. It’s an absolute dream.

Sometimes the circumstances are not what you wanted but the way you educated yourself, fought for what you wanted, and did every single thing in your power to get the outcome all while being supported and able to make decisions along the way is the difference in way you feel about the way you look at your birth. And it changes the way you mother and the way you learn to advocate for what you want and the way you start to believe that what you value is actually more important than just the usual protocol. I’m proud to be a part of those moments. And it was all that and more watching Beckett’s parents navigate that journey. Welcome little man 🫶🏼

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who are not only great dads but great birth partners, partners in pregnancy, and who recognize their immense role in being a dad before they have even met their baby. Dads, your role in birth is valued more than you’ll ever know. 🫶🏼

And a special HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to my nephew who was hours away from being born in this photo… 🎉

There is so much beauty in the intensity of this moment. The beauty is that MOM listened to her instincts and tried what felt right. She tried so many pushing positions and ended up getting baby out on her back. It was a beautiful day(s) 😏 welcoming Scottie Rae to this world! 💜
