Business Closure

July 1, 2024

To my wonderful clients,

Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity to care for you over the past two years at Holistic Bodywork in Auburn. I have really enjoyed my time with you and working alongside you on your healing journey. Unfortunately, that time has come to an end. For multiple reasons, I feel now is the perfect time for me to pursue another career.

I am giving you my notice to leave the space at Healing Hands Wellness Center by July 31, 2024. I will no longer be scheduling new appointments effective immediately. My online booking system is closed. If you have already scheduled a previous appointment, a package or gift certificate, I will of course honor our prior agreements during the month of July. Please call or text me at 530-217-3663 if you need to reschedule or cancel your previous appointment, or need to schedule an appointment for a gift certificate or package.

I am leaving massage and bodywork to pursue another business model in ecommerce. For the last year and a half, I have developed a print-on-demand and dropshipping virtual gift shop called Compass Gift Shop. You can check it out at compassgiftshop.com. You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. I would, of course, love your continued support in this new endeavor.

I will be looking for a small office to host my new business near the Higgins Corner/Lake of the Pines area closest to my daughter’s school starting September 1st. If you know of office space over there, please let me know.

Leaving for Vacay!

Hello dear clients,

How about that 90 degree weather yesterday? It feels like summer is here already. I hope you're enjoying it.

The last month as been very busy for me personally. My father was in the hospital for an infection and sepsis for 14 days and had 2 surgeries. Then I ran off to be the Matron of Honor at my Mother's wedding in Tucson, Arizona. I came back home, and my Dad had a 3rd surgery for cancer and a 2-day hospital stay. He is slowly recovering in skilled nursing. I also had a wonderful Mother's Day with family. It's been quite a roller coaster ride of emotions to say the least.

The great new is that my family has a vacation planned soon. My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary of our engagement. We were engaged in Kauai, and we're finally going back. It's been too long since we had a real vacation.

I will be gone next week from Tuesday, May 23rd to Thursday May 25th. I will return the following Tuesday, May 29th. I will not be answering emails for phone calls during this time.

I do have a lot of availability today and tomorrow before I leave. So if you would like a massage this week, please schedule online today.

Otherwise I will see you after Memorial Day!

Hoppy Easter & Spring Break!

April Updates

Open This Week

Absence
I will be gone April 19th to April 26th to attend a family wedding. My mother is getting married at 74-years-young. I am super proud to be her Matron of Honor.

Mask Mandate
The mask mandate for healthcare workers (which includes Massage Therapists in the state of California) has officially ended on April 3rd.

As I do work with many elderly and immune comprised clients, I will always continue to have n95 masks on hand. If you would like for me to wear a mask during your session, please feel free to tell me at anytime. I am happy to accommodate you.

I find that quality n95 masks are an effective way to prevent all sorts of diseases. And I may wear a mask on-and-off as important events come up. For instance, I don't want to get any sort of sick right before my Mom's wedding or the vacation I have planned in late May. If you see me wearing a mask during your session, it's probably just because I don't want to miss my flight! Thanks so much for your understanding.

Back in Business!

Hello everyone,

If you would like to book a service again, I am back in business after being snowed-in for over a week at the end of February & beginning of March, followed by some pre-planned leave earlier this week.

I think I have reached out to everyone via email about rescheduling postponed services. Please feel free to get in touch if you are still trying to reschedule. I am still holding some spots for people that needed to reschedule, but I will open those spots again as we get closer to those time slots.

I have one spot left this Thursday at 11am or 3pm. Next week is pretty full. But the last week of March is fairly open.

Greetings from Grass Valley!

Hello dear clients,

Greetings from Grass Valley, where my family and I have just survived a series of snow storms bunkered down at home. My house is buried in 4 - 5 feet of snow that is up to my mid-thigh or waist. My daughter's school has been closed, and remains closed as much Nevada County is without power. My main road out has not been plowed, and last I heard there was tree blocking the road.

I have had to cancel three days worth of clients! I am so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I will work on rescheduling for the end of the month. Thank you so much for your patience.

I am hoping to make my appointments tomorrow (Thursday, March 2nd), so that I can make some money this week. But I will have to see if my road out is passable.

I am also concerned that another snow storm maybe coming our way Saturday through Tuesday next week, and that there could be further closures. Again, I do apologize for those I need to reschedule l in the future.

How can you help?

Communication
I only have generator power and no internet right now. I can tether my laptop from my cell phone for internet. That often only works in the morning, and I will loose connection in the afternoon. Phone calls often fail, and texts sometimes do too. So please be patience with communication, as I regain service.

Rescheduling and Waitlist

Gift Shop
I am still running a gift shop online. I have both an Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/compassgiftshop) and my own website now. Compass Gift Shop (https://compassgiftshop.com/) specialized in personalized gifts. If you would like to help support me and my family, buying something from my online gift shop is a great way to do that.

These shops are 100% print-on-demand. Meaning, I create the designs and do the marketing. But a 3rd party provider prints, packages and ships the items. I wanted created such an online business for moments like this when I am stuck at home with a sick kid or buried by snow with only generator power.

Hello dear clients. We are expecting heavy snow fall this week in the Foothills. I live at 3,000 feet in Grass Valley on a private road that rarely gets plowed. I sometimes get snowed in, and there is a possibility I will need to cancel clients on Wednesday & Thursday this week. I have closed my schedule for the remainder of next week to save space for rescheduled clients. My appointment system does have a new waitlist feature on my website. If there is a last minute cancelation, I can get you in sooner than later. Drive safe out there & have fun in the snow.

Heavy snow is forecast later this week with significant travel impacts for the foothills, mountains and potential for significant snowfall within portions of the central valley. Specially along the western side of the valley Thu and Fri but lighter amounts possible on Wed.

December News

Hello everyone,

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you are having lots of holiday fun right now.

During the Fall Break, I was able to move my Dad to Auburn. It was so wonderful to have him here during Thanksgiving.

Next week, I will be visiting my Mother is Arizona for Christmas.

HOLIDAY VACATION
I will be on vacation the week before Christmas from Tuesday, December 20th to Thursday, December 22nd. I will return on Tuesday, December 27th the week before New Years.

GIFT CERTIFICATES
Gift certificates are available on-line through my website. Use the button below to order one for someone special. You can send them on a specific date if you like.

PRICE INCREASES
Starting January 1st, all services will have a $5 price increase. A 60-minute massage will now be $90, a 90-minute massage will then be $130, and so forth.

Hello Dear Clients,

I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and all the fun activities that fall brings. I absolutely love this time of year.

Fall Break

I wanted to let you know, I am taking the third week of October off from work. My office will be closed Tuesday, October 18th to Thursday, October 20th. I will be open again on Tuesday, October 25th.

My daughter has a week long fall break from school. The whole family is going down to the Los Angeles area to help my father move up to Auburn that week. We've been working on moving him up here since Spring Break. It's been a lot of work downsizing his apartment.

Exciting New Announcement

I've been working on a new business!

I've opened an online gift shop on Etsy, call Rose Star Gift Shop. Currently have been working mostly on graphic t-shirt designs. But I will be branching out to other items soon. I upload new items almost everyday!
