For Fat Tuesday, we dressed in colorful masks and beads, our smiles reflecting the spirit of the celebration. Jazz music set the tone as we played Mardi Gras trivia and watched a live parade on TV. We topped it all off with sweet, sticky buns and would happily do it all again.

Inspired by nature, Donna, Mary Jo, Carolee, Maureen, Tom, and Pat created garden art they are proud to showcase on the wall. They painted a watercolor of rocks, and Donna designed a carefully arranged composition of pressed flowers. Each project called for focus and steady hands, and they brought plenty of both.

We paused our focus on the winter games to watch the big football matchup on Sunday! An abundance of snacks was set out thanks to George and Kelly. Although our team did not reach the finals, folks stayed upbeat throughout the game!

In celebration of the winter games beginning in Italy this week, we transformed our dining room into a spirited arena for friendly competition among residents and staff. We continue to explore creative ways to use Spackle in our art projects. With this medium, Pat, Maureen, Mary Jo, and Donna mounted seashells and dried starfish to create coastal-themed decor. Our residents are always eager to take part in new artistic pursuits.

Our sales director, Chris, organized a fun pirate-themed marketing event made possible through the collaboration of staff, care partners, and neighboring communities. The event drew prospective Brookdale members, who received goody bags and had the chance to explore our active and well-loved community. Throughout the event, regularly scheduled activities continued without interruption, with some residents choosing to unwind with a feel-good movie while others gathered to play Five Crowns with Lisa.

Our crochet class with Kelly helped Lanie reconnect with her former hobby. It also revealed her remarkable talent for scarf-making. Her good friend Phyllis was truly impressed by Lanie’s new scarf.
