Because we enjoy spending time outdoors, Tom does his part to keep the neighborhood clean by picking up litter. Donna and Maureen help keep our community looking fresh by regularly watering the plants. The garden has been thriving, and it's even begun attracting a few little frogs, along with a hummingbird that visits the coleus plants every morning at 10 a.m.

Fall isn't too far away, but we're still enjoying the warmth of summer days. Kelly served sweet chocolate milkshakes, and with so many people wanting them, she barely had time to rest. For one morning, we were transported to a beachside resort as Brookdale Auburn hosted Placer OAC for a networking event featuring senior care professionals. In one of the proudest moments our community has ever witnessed, Quilts of Valor honored Charlsie and her son, Roger, with deeply meaningful gifts. The organization presented each of them with a unique, beautifully crafted quilt, created to show gratitude and respect for their service and sacrifice. During the ceremony, Charlsie and Roger gave brief and moving speeches. As the event came to a close, Charlsie led everyone in singing "God Bless America."

Ken and his wife, Maureen, joined Tom, Vic, Nancy, Pat, Maureen H., and Judy for a fun afternoon of escapism, complete with popcorn. Everyone enjoyed the film, but Judy loved it the most.
