Child Health Associates believes that providing vaccinations is one of the most effective steps we take to promote the health of your child. We believe vaccines are safe and effective due to extensive studies and large clinical trials. Child Health Associates strongly supports the vaccination schedule of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The AAP has published vaccine schedules for over 95 years, developed by experts, guided by evidence based science, and trusted by pediatricians and families across the country. Child Health Associates is following the AAP and the State of Massachusetts recommendations in regards to the current measles outbreaks in the United States.
We understand that you may have questions surrounding vaccinations including the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccination due to the different information that is circulating. Measles is a highly contagious virus with symptoms and complications that can be very serious. The MMR vaccine is routinely recommended at 12months and 4years of age. The first dose of MMR is 93% effective against measles and the second dose is 97% effective against measles. We have attached some information from trusted resources to help answer some questions that you may have. As always, our providers and nurses would be happy to discuss any questions, concerns, hesitations, or thoughts that you may be having regarding vaccinations.
