I just thought I would share a couple of the tools I have incorporated in my home so that we do not go back to complete chaos like it was during the pandemic. As someone who has chosen to go a very out of the box way with education The biggest thing that I have learned about unschooling and the agile model is that you have to have a space with intention behind it. I am so grateful to Hany and Keli and Who have mastered this in my opinion. I think that looks different in every home depending on the age of your children and where they are developmentally and their personal needs as well as yours. For me I have to have a lot of structure around the freedom or it’s very unhealthy for everyone in the home. I have created an agile board along with lots of options for my children. We also do daily offerings that they incorporate in. I have developed a list of TV that is OK when that time is available and Things that I am willing to offer based on what my kids have showed desire about learning more about. We live in a small space so I have to have designated areas for designated things otherwise it’s a disaster. So crafting /creation/ writing at the kitchen table, creative play living room or bedroom, reading living room, yoga/in yoga space, dancing living room/bedroom. My seven-year-old daughter also does not have the capacity to organize or keep up with her things. If you’re looking for Western medicine’s diagnosis I would say it’s adhd So I have to create a very organized space that I pretty much follow her around and remind her what to put up Where and we are always adjusting and trying new methods to help her organize. I have also come up with age-appropriate responsibilities to help alleviate some of the weight of being at home all the time and what that requires. Here are some pictures of my tools just thought I would share in case it’s helpful for anyone else.
