The northeast has been buried by another large snow storm, and runners are missing runs because snowbanks leave little to no room on the roads for running. If the road you live on is not safe for running, you can't or won't take days off, consider driving to less traveled and safer roads. For example, one of our runners has been driving 3-4 miles and parking at a school on the weekends to run a short loop multiple times in a quiet neighborhood for long runs.

When we don't move or get a soft tissue injury, our fascia gets stuck to adjacent tissue. After that, it can throw parts of our body out of whack. Proper hydration, sleep, and soft tissue manipulation can help loosen that up.

Runners in the Northeast are finally getting a break from multiple snowstorms and record low temperatures, and many are behind on their Long Run distances.  When increasing the length of a Long Run more aggressively to get caught up, plan extra recovery for the days after the run by shortening a few runs or taking an extra day off from running.  Don't set yourself up for an injury.

How do you recover harder? Mineral baths, foam rolling, Normatec compression boots, sports massage, quality sleep, focused nutrition, and Red Light Therapy or sauna to name a few.
