In A Heartbeat CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens and First Aid Training and Certification In A Heartbeat was founded in 1997 by Gretchen Nahkala.

We offer training to all rescuers, including, but not limited to: healthcare professionals, EMTs, industrial companies, daycare centers, schools, scouting groups and babysitters. Based in central Massachusetts and operating throughout New England, we specialize in programs that are informative, insightful, and entertaining. We love to hear about your successful saves! Today we taught at Holden Christian Academy and their IT pro Jeremiah shared his: 3 years ago he took his first CPR course with IAHB’s Gretchen and Monica. Within a week of becoming certified he had to put his skills to use to save his choking infant daughter. Thank you for sharing! Stories like this warm our heart and it’s why we do what we do!

This is a sad and long overdue post: As some of you may know, earlier this year my sister Gretchen, founder of In A Heartbeat and our fearless leader for many years, passed due to cancer. She is the most amazing person I’ve ever known, and she devoted her life to In A Heartbeat’s mission of saving lives through education. My wife Monica and I are honored and grateful that she asked us to carry on this mission.
We are sorry for the delay in this update, but we just want our friends and customers to know that In A Heartbeat is still here for you, we are still offering health and safety classes at your location or our training facility.

Although Gretchen is no longer with us, she lives in our hearts and she inspires us everyday.
