Congratulations to Justin Murphy on winning gold at his powerlifting competition on Saturday! Justin competed in the Special Olympics division in Talladega at the Powerlifting American Alabama Open. Great job, Justin!

State Volleyball Tournament 2024

A huge thank you to Faulkner University for hosting everyone and congratulations to everyone who participated. Lee County came in 2nd place in Division 2, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you to our amazing volunteer coaches who came with us today, and thank you to Special Olympics Alabama for coordinating the event.

If you utilized the Dining for Charities coupon deals last fall - THANK YOU! With your help we raised over $500.00 towards Lee County Special Olympics. Our Lee County Special Olympics Director Elizabeth Kaufman met with Dining for Charities owner Bill Evans today to receive the donation check. We also learned Special Olympics Lee County will be the focus charity for Dining for Charities this coming spring of 2025! What a whirlwind weekend! State Games was a blast. We had 25 athletes compete in bowling, aquatics, and athletics. Throughout these three sports we brought home 32 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals! Our athletes worked hard for these, and we are so proud of their achievements.

A huge thank you to our bus driver, our parent/community volunteers and supporters, our chaperones and coaches, and the community who supports our fundraising to continue this program. We appreciate you!

We had an amazing send-off for our Lee County Special Olympics athletes who attended Alabama State Special Olympics. The Auburn Public Safety - Police & Fire had 15 officers there, along with Aubie cameMayor Anders! Everyone came to wish our 25 athletes the best of luck at their competitions. We even got a police es**rt from APD to the interstate. Thank you to everyone who joined us - this was such a special send-off for our athletes.
