Nemaha County Hospital (NCH) first opened its doors on Sunday, April 28, 1963, welcoming area residents and dignitaries not only into a new building filled with state-of-the-art technology, but into a new era of healthcare. Opioid overdose can happen when opioids slow or stop breathing. It is a medical emergency that needs immediate attention.

Opioids include prescription pain medications, he**in, and fentanyl. In 2023, nearly 80,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. involved opioids.

Understanding the danger is the first step in prevention. Watch for Part II on the warning signs of overdose.

At Nemaha County Hospital, we’re here to support your cardiac care close to home. We offer Cardiology Clinics with Pioneer Heart every Friday, Bryan Health twice a month, and Nebraska Heart Vascular clinics monthly. We also offer Cardiac Rehab services to help patients recover and build strength with confidence.

It was my first week back teaching bounce & yoga at my local county hospital. They surprised me by wearing pink Earth & Owl shirts! So sweet and supportive! I love teaching on YouTube, but this gives me a chance to do what I enjoy in person. The classes are free for any hospital employee! đź©·
