Today we celebrate the incredible mothers who have filled our lives with love, wisdom, strength, and endless care. At our nursing home, we are honored to spend this special Mother’s Day with so many amazing women whose stories, kindness, and memories continue to inspire us every day. 💐
From warm smiles to cherished memories shared with family and friends, today is about honoring the beautiful role mothers and grandmothers play in our hearts and communities. Thank you for the love you’ve given throughout the years — and continue to give so generously.

Dear Families,
We are honored to celebrate Mother’s Day with our residents and their loved ones 💐
In recognition of the wonderful mothers and caregivers in our community, we have planned two special opportunities for you to join us:
On Sunday, May 10 at 1:00 PM, we will be hosting a Coffee Bar with light refreshments ☕🍪 Families are warmly invited to stop by, spend time together, and enjoy a relaxed visit with their loved ones.
On Monday, May 11 at 2:00 PM, residents will be creating floral arrangements 🌸 This activity is a meaningful way for them to make something special while celebrating the spirit of the day.
We hope these gatherings bring comfort, connection, and joy to all who participate 💛

Today, we proudly celebrate our incredible nurses at the Friendship Home!

Your compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment make our community feel truly like home. Every single day, you go above and beyond—providing not only exceptional care, but also comfort, patience, and kindness that mean so much to our residents and their families.

Whether it’s a helping hand, a listening ear, or a reassuring smile, the impact you make never goes unnoticed. You bring dignity, warmth, and heart into every moment.

As a small token of our appreciation, our nurses received massage gift certificates—we hope you take time to relax and enjoy, because you truly deserve it! We also enjoyed a delicious catered lunch generously provided by Hospice of the Midwest. Thank you!!

Our residents had a wonderful time celebrating Cinco de Mayo! 🇲🇽💃

We enjoyed a fun few games of fiesta bingo, along with tasty chips, queso, and salsa. Refreshments included margaritas and strawberry Fanta, which everyone loved 🍹😊

We had such a special May Day! 🌸

We made May Day baskets to share with the kids at Cozy Cardinals Childcare, and it turned into a beautiful day of connection. The kids came in to spend time coloring with our residents, bringing so many smiles to everyone.

This past weekend we had some special visitors 💙

We’ve been having a lot of fun around here! As per a “day in the life” of activities, things don’t always go as planned—but we embrace the changes and keep the good times going. 😊

We celebrated National Peach Cobbler Day (just a week late!) on Monday, and everyone loved the delicious homemade dessert. 🍑

🚐Our bus trip plans also got a little switched up due to weather, so we moved it up and took a trip to Exira to visit the Corner Corral Creamery. We enjoyed a nice drive around town and, of course, some amazing ice cream! 🍦

A big thank you to those who donated the peach cobbler, and to the Creamery for taking such great care of us. The residents truly enjoyed it all!! Life is sweet! 😃💛

Please join us in welcoming our new administrator to the Friendship Home team!

Heather Feick joins us from Greenfield with nearly 30 years of experience in long term care. She is married, has five children, and one grandson. Heather is looking forward to leading and being part of an amazing team—and we’re excited to have her on board! 💙

Her passion for compassionate care, strong leadership, and dedication to residents and staff make her a wonderful addition to our community. We’re confident she will help continue our mission of providing a warm, supportive, and high-quality environment for everyone we serve.

🇺🇸On Sunday, we were honored to recognize our veteran's, their service and sacrifice have shaped the freedoms we enjoy every day.

A heartfelt thank you to the Breda American Legion Riders for hosting this ceremony and their thoughtful gift of an American flag, beautifully displayed in an oak case with a personalized plaque listing their name, branch of service, and service dates. This tribute will stand as a lasting symbol of our gratitude. It was a deeply moving ceremony and are so thankful this group does this for our veterans!🇺🇸

🇺🇸Join us this Sunday at 2 PM in the Chapel as we honor our veterans with a special Flags for Vets ceremony 🇺🇸

This meaningful event is sponsored by the Breda American Legion Riders, who will be presenting flags to each of our veterans at the Home. It’s a small token of appreciation for their service, sacrifice, and dedication.

We welcome you to join us in showing gratitude and support for those who have served our country.
