Today is a personal day for me.
Two years ago, on March 9th, my brother Richie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Losing him was one of the hardest experiences of my life, and like many people who have experienced deep loss, I found myself asking the same question over and over: Will this ever stop hurting like this?
Over time, I’ve learned something that has changed the way I understand grief.
Grief is not something that needs to be fixed or pushed away.
Grief is love — love that no longer has the same place to land.
In this week’s episode of the Live In Joy Podcast, I share a very personal reflection about grief, healing, and how the heart slowly learns to hold both love and loss at the same time.
At the end of the episode, I included something incredibly special to me — a short clip of my brother’s voice. Richie always wanted to share positive messages and make an impact in the world, and in a small way, this feels like helping his voice continue to do that.
If you’ve ever lost someone you love, I hope this episode reminds you that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling.
Thank you to this community for always being a space where we can show up as our full human selves — in joy, in healing, and sometimes in grief.
