Born with fibular hemimelia, Connor Glover’s right leg was significantly shorter than his left. As an active kid who loved hockey and golf, he refused to let it define him - but he also faced a difficult decision about his future.
With the expertise of Dr. Mark Dahl at Gillette Children’s Hospital and the innovative Precice™ system, Connor underwent his first limb lengthening treatment just after the age of 12 to gradually correct the discrepancy. Now a high school senior preparing for college, he’s stepping forward with confidence – just like any other student.
“It’s crazy going from almost having an amputated leg to having two fully functional legs… Now I’m just Connor.”
Watch Connor's inspiring journey and see how Precice™ is transforming lives.

Surgeons from across the country joined us at our West Coast Experience Center, for the ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) Access and Exposure Cadaveric Training Program, co-chaired by Dr. Rajeev Rao and Dr. Joseph Wasselle.
Designed for general and vascular surgeons, the program focused on incorporating retroperitoneal spine access into clinical practice. Attendees participated in both didactic sessions and hands-on cadaveric training, with a focus on lateral and supine ALIF access to the L5-S1 disc space.
Featured systems included the Lateral ALIF Access System and MAS™ ALIF Access System, allowing participants to gain real-world experience using innovative surgical techniques and instruments.
Thank you to the expert faculty and engaged participants for advancing ALIF and another successful program!
Congratulations to Dr. Carlo Alberto Benech on performing his 1,000th case with ExcelsiusGPS™ at Clinica Humanitas-Cellini in Turin, Italy!
As the surgeon in Italy to adopt this technology back in 2018, Dr. Benech has been a true pioneer in robotic-assisted spine surgery. Dr. Benech has commented that “This technology has truly changed the way I perform surgery.” His dedication and innovation continue to help shape the future of neurosurgical care.

We recently hosted a MERC course focused on REFLECT™,* our non-fusion scoliosis correction system for growing patients diagnosed with progressive idiopathic scoliosis.
The course was led by Drs. Noelle Larson, Juan C. Rodríguez-Olaverri, and Robert Cho. The esteemed faculty helped surgeons explore strategies for treating pediatric spinal deformity with motion-preserving technology.
We are proud to spotlight this event during as part of our continued commitment to innovation, education, and improving outcomes for young patients.
*Humanitarian Device. Authorized by Federal law for use in skeletally immature patients who require surgical treatment to obtain and maintain correction of progressive idiopathic scoliosis, who have a major Cobb angle of 30 to 65 degrees whose osseous structure is dimensionally adequate to accommodate screw fixation, as determined by radiographic imaging. Patients should have failed bracing and/or are intolerant to brace wear. The effectiveness of this device for this use has not been demonstrated.
CAUTION: Federal (USA) Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.

Treating scoliosis in the growing spine presents unique challenges, especially in active patients. While posterior spinal fusion can be a great solution, there are also challenges including motion limitations and the disruption of the posterior spinal musculature. Globus offers a non-fusion option, the REFLECT™ Scoliosis Correction System,* which is designed to correct spinal deformities while preserving motion, maintaining stability, and allowing for future modulated growth.
PD Dr. med. Per Trobisch, Chief of Spine Service at Eifelklinik St. Brigida in Simmerath, Germany, decided to use vertebral body tethering (VBT) with REFLECT™ to help correct his skeletally immature adolescent patient's idiopathic scoliosis. After discussing options with the patient and their family, Dr. Trobisch believed VBT would potentially help to maximize the patient’s capacity to maintain an active lifestyle.
A combined thoracoscopic and mini-open approach was used to instrument a 60° thoracic curve. Dr. Trobisch used dual cords to obtain an initial correction down to 35°. Continued growth modulation resulted in a 27° curve at the 2-year follow-up.

Early detection of scoliosis is key!
Scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves three-dimensionally, often affecting children and adolescents. Identifying it early can be crucial for effective management and treatment. If you notice any signs, it is important to visit a healthcare provider. Stay informed and spread awareness!
We are excited to share that the ExcelsiusGPS™ case in Latin America was successfully completed by Dr. Ricardo Enrique Bermudez at Hospital Pacifica Salud in Panama.
Dr. Bermudez treated a patient with recurrent disc herniation and radicular pain using a minimally invasive L5-S1 transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS TLIF) approach. Utilizing preoperative CT planning and intraoperative fluoroscopy, Dr. Bermudez was able to accurately navigate the placement of CREO MIS™ screws and a RISE™ expandable cage at L5-S1.
In preparation for this milestone case, surgeons and staff participated in hands-on training with ExcelsiusGPS™. Dr. Bermudez was joined by Dr. Ariel Francis Ng, Dr. Carlos Candanedo, and Dr. Esteban Alvarez, who were among the first surgeons trained on ExcelsiusGPS™ in the region.
The momentum continued the following day with two additional cases: another MIS TLIF and a case involving placement of thoracic fixation at T10-T11, both completed smoothly with the same team.
Congratulations to Dr. Bermudez, the Hospital Pacifica Salud surgical team, and everyone else involved. We are honored to partner with surgeons across Latin America as they bring advanced navigation and robotic technologies to the patients who entrust their care to them.
Pacífica Salud
