If you’re walking around wearing your shoulders as earrings… we should probably talk. 😂

You know the look:
Jaw clenched.

Shoulders up by your ears.
Stress radiating like a Wi-Fi signal.

Good news: you don’t have to live like that.

At Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts, we specialize in gently reminding your body that it’s allowed to relax.

We offer the full healing-arts toolkit:
• Therapeutic Massage
• Deep Tissue
• Sports Massage
• Reflexology
• Thai Bodywork
• Reiki

Body, mind, spirit — all welcome.

Chronic tension, acute stress, “I didn’t realize I was holding that” energy? We’ve got you.

Drop the shoulders.
Unclench the jaw.
Book the session.

Standing Bow — a posture that asks for two opposite actions at once…reaching forward. & reaching back.

There’s effort, yes — but there’s also yield.
If you pull too hard in either direction, the shape collapses. The posture only works when you embody the balance between reach and release.

That’s the real teaching.

Asana becomes a microcosm of life. We’re taught to strive, to push, to go harder… but not every moment asks for full force. Sometimes the stretch is in relaxing into the shape, letting expansion happen because the body feels safe enough to open.

This is where practice stops being performative and starts being honest.
Embodiment over effort. Presence over grasping.

What if we trusted that growth can blossom when we soften?

We’re pleased to share that our 550-Hour Massage Therapy Program now includes Reflexology Certification as part of our comprehensive curriculum.

At DTY, we offer an all-inclusive program — no hidden fees, no surprise costs. Tuition includes your AMTA student membership, an interest-free payment plan designed to make training accessible and transparent.

Our approach is hands-on and mentor-led, with small class sizes that support real learning, individual guidance, and confidence in clinical skills. Education here is rooted in integrity, hands-on experience & practical application.

This program is designed for those seeking a thoughtful, well-supported path into massage therapy. Enrollment is intentionally limited to protect the quality of instruction and mentorship.

If you’d like to learn more about our program structure, learning environment, or application process, we’d be glad to connect.

A Christmas Blessing for Our Community

I’m sitting in quiet gratitude — for the path, for the teachers who came before us, and for the steady light that carries us when the way feels uncertain.

May we remember that devotion is not something we perform, but something we live —
in how we show up,
in how we care for one another,
in how we return to what matters again and again.

May you feel held in your practice,
guided by integrity,
and softened by compassion.

From our hearts at the studio to yours —
may this season reflect back to you the quiet truth that you belong, and that the light you seek is already within you.

Grateful for this community. Grateful for the family we’ve grown together at DTY. For the way this space continues to be held — not by one person, but by all of us.

Some massage therapists are just built differently.

Jason got home at 1 a.m. last night — his only day off, the one day we planned to decorate the house, breathe, and just be human again.

Then the phone rang. A brand-new client. In real pain.

And without hesitation — not a sigh, not a complaint — he grabbed his keys & was out the door.

That’s who he is.
That’s who we are.
This is how we serve.

People talk about “scope of practice,” “professional ethics,” “therapeutic relationship” — and yes, those matter deeply (and are literally the backbone of our field). But compassion? That’s not in a textbook. You can’t teach that. You either carry that kind of heart into the room… or you don’t.

Jason serves the way the good ones serve:
Quietly. Steadily. Without needing applause. Without ever making someone’s pain feel like an inconvenience.

These are the practitioners I want beside me. These are the people I will champion every single day. This is the level of care we hold ourselves to at DTY — not because it’s required, but because it’s who we are at our core.

Massage therapy is a profession, yes.
But for some of us, it’s also a calling.

And today, watching my husband choose service over comfort — again — reminded me why I’m so proud of him, proud of our school, proud of our studio, and proud of this path.

Support these kinds of practitioners.
