We opened the container with Swamiji’s iconic song Bright Side — a true beacon of hope.

A full room. Open hearts. Shared presence.

K said, “It felt like he was speaking directly to me.”

Moments like this remind me why we gather.

Together — sending a little more hope, love, and light into the world. 🙏🏼

There’s something that happens when voices come together like this…
No performance. No pressure. Just presence.

In just a few days, we’ll be sitting together with Swami G, sharing practices like this—simple, powerful, and deeply human.

The chant you’re hearing here is “Hare Govinda.”
In the yogic tradition, Govinda is a name for the divine—often understood as the sustaining, guiding presence within and around us.

This isn’t about singing perfectly.
It’s about softening… listening… and letting yourself be carried by the sound.

You don’t need to know the words.
You don’t need to have experience.
You just come, sit, and receive.

✨ Join us this weekend as we gather in practice, reflection, and community.

Empower Your Life: A Positive Thinking Teaching Series
with Swami Prem Sadasivananda
March 19–22, 2026
Downtown Yoga & Healing Arts — Augusta, Maine

Many of you met Prem when he visited last year. For those who are newer to the community, Prem is a direct disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda, who carried forward the teachings of Swami Sivananda.

Over four days we will explore one of the central teachings of that tradition: Positive Thinking.

In yoga, positive thinking is not about pretending everything is fine or repeating affirmations. It is a discipline of the mind—learning to observe our thought patterns and gradually refine the way we respond to life.

These gatherings include satsang, teachings, yoga practice, and kirtan. Each session opens a different doorway into the same question:

How do we live with greater awareness and freedom in the mind?

We would love to have you join us.

✨ “The quality of our thoughts quietly shapes the quality of our lives.”
— Swami Prem Sadasivananda, Empower Your Life

The many expressions of a single practice.

Christopher, one of our teachers shared this today, and it made me pause.

The 26 & 2 sequence has traveled through many studios, teachers, and interpretations over the years. What continues to fascinate me is how the same 26 postures and 2 breathing practices can look so different in different bodies.

Same sequence.
Different nervous systems.
Different stories in the body.

And that’s really the beauty of yoga.

The postures themselves are not the point.
They’re simply the container — a structure that gives us the opportunity to notice, breathe, and meet ourselves honestly.

Some days the poses feel strong.
Some days they feel humbling.

Both are part of the practice.

Seeing all of these variations together is a good reminder that there isn’t one “perfect” shape — there is only the shape that is honest in your body today.

Yoga was never meant to make us identical.
It was meant to make us aware.
