Mohs Monday ✨ This lovely gentleman had a basal cell removed from his nose with Mohs surgery. See here the defect after surgery, followed by closure with a rotation flap and minimal scarring already by the suture removal at 1 week. He will continue to heal after this and can expect an excellent outcome! 😀

Mohs Monday ✨

How lucky are we to have such a talented Mohs Surgeon on our staff? Dr. Paine knocked it out of the park again! This patient underwent multiple stages of Mohs surgery to clear a large scalp defect. Thanks to bilateral rotation flaps, she’s healed beautifully—with an excellent cosmetic result and no noticeable hair loss. 👏

Wondering what to expect when you come in for a skin exam? Here you go! 👇

🩺 Brief Medical History: Your provider will ask about your personal and family history of skin cancer, sun exposure habits, and any spots, changes, or issues you’ve noticed.

👕 Head-to-Toe Skin Check: You’ll be given a gown and your dermatologist will examine your skin from scalp to soles, checking for moles, spots, or any unusual changes.

🔍 Dermatoscope Use: They may use a special magnifying tool (a dermatoscope) to get a closer look at certain lesions or moles.

📝 Discussion & Next Steps: You’ll be informed of any findings. If something looks suspicious, your provider may recommend a biopsy or schedule a follow-up.
