It’s National Immunization Awareness Month! Here are some fun facts about the HPV vaccine:

📈 HPV is the most common STI, and the vaccine can help prevent potential risks!
🩺 The vaccine is safe and effective
👏 It could prevent more than 90% of cancers caused by HPV from developing.

With a newfound $2,000,000 hole in our budget, all of our services– not just abortion care– are at risk. From primary care to cancer screenings, this massive budget cut threatens our ability to provide Mainers with the high-quality, affordable healthcare they deserve.

By cutting funding for abortion providers, the Trump administration is also cutting funding for the other vital services we offer, such as contraception, cancer screenings, and primary care. For many Mainers, the care they receive at Maine Family Planning is the only healthcare they receive all year. Maine Family Planning remains committed to providing the full range of our services, including abortion care, no matter how this administration tries to stand in our way.

The so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” targets abortion providers, and blocks us from receiving Medicaid funds. AP Politics spoke with Vanessa Shields-Haas, a nurse practitioner at our Thomaston clinic, about the effect this could have on our patients, saying “Knowing how hard it is to access care in this state, not allowing these community members to access their care, it’s cruel.”

🚨 We're taking a stand for Maine families.

BREAKING: Today, Maine Family Planning filed a federal lawsuit to protect healthcare access for thousands of Mainers. The Trump Administration's new law cuts off our Medicaid funding, threatening care for the almost 10,000 patients who count on us every year.

Here's what's at stake: Half our patients rely on Medicaid for essential services like birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing, and routine care. Many of our 18 clinics are the ONLY healthcare providers in their rural communities.

If we lose Medicaid funding, we may be forced to close clinics and cut services. That means fewer options for everyone, creating a ripple effect that hurts all Mainers, regardless of insurance.

But we're not giving up. As our CEO George Hill said: "Every person should live with dignity and autonomy." We're fighting in court to restore our funding so we can keep our doors open for those who need us most.

This is about our neighbors, our community, and freedom.
