😴 Take Your M.E.D.S. ---- S is for Sleep 😴

Sleep often gets pushed aside, but it plays a huge role in how we feel, move, and recover.

A helpful goal for most adults is around 8 hours of sleep per night. Just as important is sleep hygiene, creating habits that help your body wind down and rest well.

That can look like lowering lights in the evening, reducing screen time before bed, and stepping away from activities that keep your mind and body “on.”

You don’t have to change everything at once. Even one small habit, like putting your phone down a little earlier, can improve sleep quality.

👉 Better sleep supports better movement, recovery, and overall health.

North Branch Broncos Student-Athletes of the Month for February, presented by DPT-Lapeer!

Closing out her senior year of basketball, Tia Beaver has earned this month’s award. On the court, she has been a co-captain, leading her team. Off the court, Tia has been a go-to player carrying out whatever task her coach needs done. Tia’s focus and control during games have helped the team’s success this year. She is an all-around great student-athlete, and her coach is excited to see her be a leader and do great things in the future. Way to set a great example for fellow teammates and classmates, Tia!

In his sophomore year, Tim Hanna is now a two-time state qualifier for wrestling. He has gained the title League Champ, District Champ, Regional Champ, and is 41-2 on the year. After placing 4th as a freshman last year at states, Tim travelled to Ford Field recently where he fought his way to the championship round and earned 2nd place this year, in the Division 2 120 lb weight class. Way to make gains this year, Tim! DPT is so proud of the hard work this month, Broncos!

Testimonials

To Whom It May Concern:

This past January I set a hefty goal that I've contemplated doing for years, I signed up to compete in my first bikini bodybuilding competition. Like most people, I had made many excuses in the past why it wasn't the right time to pursue this interest. I 'm proud to say that I couldn't have made this dream come true without Dunamis Therapy & Fitness Center and its very own personal trainer, Lacey.

There are many ingredients that played a major role in my quest for fitness. I believe that Lacey helped prepare me for success by setting up consultations prior to my start date; where she walked me through the importance of meal prepping, organization, and time management. I left Dunamis Therapy & Fitness Center with the understanding that to make this work, I needed to hold myself accountable. I needed to meal prep on the weekends (this was a must, for my week to be successful). I needed to allot one to two and half hours of strength training and cardio, six days a week. I needed to understand that my bad sugar habits were going to be tough to break, but I had to be tough on myself. She warned me that the first couple of days were going to be rough but it will get easier mentally and physically. I was sore. I was hungry. And well, maybe, a bit crabby. Through every step of the way Lacey was always there to support me on my journey.
