Shepeard, a nationally known name in the blood banking industry and chairman of the Department of Medical Technology at the Medical College of Georgia, had a vision for the area - to create a community blood bank that pours life blood into the patients at our local hospitals. Today, Shepeard, partners with local hospitals across the two state area by providing blood and blood products to their patients in need.

Common myths about blood donations⬇️
🩸If you were tattooed or pierced with a at a state regulated tattoo parlor, you can donate without restriction.
🩸Blood components have different shelf lives. Whole blood can be refrigerated for up to 35 days. Don’t wait to donate!
🩸You must wait at least 56 days between donations of whole blood. That’s up to 6 times a year!
🩸Blood centers screen for travel due to the risk of diseases. But it does not permanently disqualify you from donating.
🩸From injuries to cancer patients – Blood is needed in our community every day.
