In honor of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we are sharing stories of connection. Here's Troy's:

"I started Clubhouse in 2009. If it was not for Clubhouse, I would be home a lot. Clubhouse helped me a lot getting back to work. Also, do more things I haven't done. I'm very thankful to have Clubhouse seven days per week.I will keep going to Clubhouse many years to come. I want to keep doing new things as they come."

To celebrate World Mental Health Day coming up, October 10th, we are sharing stories of connections. Here is Jim's:

Before Clubhouse, I was homeless and had a broken life. I didn't have community. I didn't know what I wanted to do in my life. When I came to the Clubhouse, I found community and wasn't homeless. Now I know what I want to do in my life. I want to be and Ed Tech.

Clubhouse has helped me make social connections and get ready for employment. Without Clubhouse, in my life, I don't know where I'd be.

To celebrate World mental Health Day, we are posting stories of connection. Here is Rosa's:

"Hello! I am Rosa. Before coming to Capitol Clubhouse is augusta, Maie, I was very withdrawn and had low self-esteem. I believed I was a nobody in this world. My first day here, I sat in the corner of the dining room scared and unable to find my way out. Today, after being with Clubhouse for 14 years, I have more friends than I can count. I have a support network that I need. I have been able to get some education through Adult Education and some employment opportunities. My self confidence is through the roof. Now I want to share what I have been through with others to help, guide, and mentor."

To celebrate World Mental Health Day, we are posting stories of connections. Clubhouse International - ICCDKennebec Behavioral Health Here is Kelsey's story:

"Hi, my name is Kelsey. Before I became a colleague of Capitol Clubhouse, I was homeless in Lewiston. It was hard and scary be so young and homeless in a strange city. My sister came and got me. She linked me to Capitol Clubhouse in Augusta, ME. I have now been here as a colleague for eleven years. It has shown me that you have to work hard at everything you do in life. I have grown so much over the last eleven years. I hope to one day go to school so I can open a breakfast cafe that celebrates my Italian heritage. I love to feed people at the Clubhouse. I cook breakfast in the cafe and lunch in the kitchen. My favorite to cook for my Clubhouse is homemade mac and cheese. I love to cook and I love to help others."
