MDFMR is a diverse community of learners committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive primary care to the rural and underserved communities of central Maine through a training program for residents and students that aims to be both rigorous and personally fulfilling. MDFMR was founded in 1973, and has advocated for the value and relevance of the family doctor on the local and national st

age ever since. Our initial goal was to train physicians in the full breadth of primary care to serve rural communities in Maine; now we feel confident that our graduates have both the clinical acumen as well as the independent learning skills to provide basic health care for all people anywhere in the country or around the world.

Each quarter we have a Family Dinner in the hospital teaching kitchen. Last night several of our residents (and a Geriatric Fellow!) shared Nigerian cuisine with their MDFMR family. So delicious, so fun, so Maine-Dartmouth.

SESSION 2: IN-PERSON! Please join us on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM for an informal Community Dinner (will include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options). This will take place at MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Alfond Center for Health, located at 35 Medical Center Drive, Augusta Maine 04330. Please park in Visitor Parking- you will be greeted inside the main entrance lobby area. Given space limitations, we aren’t able to accommodate family members at this time. Following dinner, we will offer a brief tour of our hospital facility.
