This week in Washington, D.C., I had the opportunity to sit at the table and speak directly with policymakers about the realities of running a small mental health practice.
Grateful to Meta, Meta for the invitation through the Meta Business Leaders Network, and for creating space for small business voices to be heard in conversations shaping AI, the economy, and digital access.

I had the opportunity to share the journey of Wilson’s Garden of Hope Play Therapy & Counseling Center with Congressman Rick Allen, Senator Jon Ossoff Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock.

These conversations went beyond surface level wins. I spoke honestly about growth, sustainability, access to care, and the challenges that come with serving children and families in underserved communities.

Small businesses are driving innovation every day. We are using digital tools and exploring AI to expand reach and meet demand. At the same time, policy decisions being made right now will directly impact how we operate and who we are able to serve.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to advocate, to represent, and to continue pushing forward work that centers early childhood mental health and equitable access to care.

Today, my doctoral degree, Healthcare Administration with concentration on AI in Healthcare, was officially conferred.

This has been a long road. A lot of hard work, late nights, early mornings, endless reading, writing, rewriting, and more papers than I ever imagined. There were moments of exhaustion, frustration, and tears, but also moments of clarity and growth that reminded me why I started.

I could not have done this without my family. Your support, patience, prayers, and understanding carried me through the toughest seasons. When I was tired, overwhelmed, or doubting myself, you stood in the gap for me. This accomplishment belongs to all of us.

*To my lovebug, you are by far my greatest accomplishment.*

This chapter represents breaking cycles, honoring sacrifice, and opening doors for those coming behind me.

I’m grateful, humbled, and proud of the work it took to get here. The journey has shaped me, and the work continues.

I will be taking a much needed soft reset for two weeks. I am excited to share new initiatives and more importantly continue our impact in rural mental health services

Fellow Clinicians,

Wilson's Garden of Hope Play Therapy & Counseling Center stands in solidarity with you as we continue to express our concerns about TRICARE's handling of behavioral health claims. As a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor working in a military community, where at least 75% of my clients are military-affiliated, the ongoing issues with payment transparency, inaccessible billing, and delays in processing are simply unacceptable. These challenges are affecting our ability to provide quality care to those who serve our country.

We urge TRICARE to address these issues promptly and ensure that providers are given the support and clarity they need.

Dear Wilson’s Garden of Hope, LLC Play Therapy and Counseling families,

We're hiring!

Please share with any candidates that are licensed eligible or provisionally licensed. We're hiring for W-2 part-time and full-time positions. Position starts August 12, 2024.

We are also considering W-2 fully licensed therapist, the hourly rate is $55-$65 part-time and full time, as well. Full-time staff are eligible for health, dental, vision, PTO and federal holidays.

The clinical therapist) will provide outpatient individual and family counseling to children (ages 3 and up), teens and families.
