After 36 years serving the community, I (Beth Labaugh) will be retiring on June 1, 2024, and will be handing Kennebec Therapeutics over to my very capable associate, Linette Mailhot, BA, LMT. My other capable associate, Rebecca Riley, Rolfer, can be reached at her Gardiner practice at (207) 751-9836.

Office Location Change: The Olde Federal Building where we have been for 14 years, is being turned into a hotel. Linette has leased a professional sunny new office space just up the hill (no floods!!) and around the corner from our current office. There is ample on site parking and handicap access. Details on parking and accessibility for the new building can be viewed on our website, kennebectherapeutics.com.

Office location after June 1: 9 Green St. Suite 306, Augusta, ME.

The office phone number will be changing to (207) 802-0788 effective June 1. The office will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Thank you all so much for your support over the years. I have truly enjoyed seeing so many people both reducing their pain and increasing their abilities to work and enjoy life, over the years, as well as forming personal connections with so many interesting people. I will truly miss this work, and all of you, but wish you, Linette, and Rebecca all the best in the future.

Be well,

Beth Labaugh BS,LMT

Happy holidays!

The Olde Federal Building, where our office is located, suffered severe flooding during last week's storm and the building was closed for a few days. However, the office will be open again as of this Wednesday, and no appointments need to be rescheduled. However, a few problems remain as a result of the flooding:
The rear wheelchair ramp and stairs are currently unavailable.
The elevator is also currently unavailable.
There is a faint fuel oil smell on the first floor as a result of the basement flooding. The smell is not apparent on the second floor where our office is located, and we have been running gas/air purifiers for a few days that seem to have cleared up any smells in the office completely.
Our office can still be accessed through the front entrance of the building and by using the stairs to the second floor.

Please feel free to reach out to reschedule by text, phone, email, etc. if there are any concerns for your appointment this week.

Thanks for your flexibility!
Beth, Linette & Rebecca

We are offering another free Scar Therapy clinic on Tuesday, October 18 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm! Multiple time slots are still open, so please get in touch with the office if you might be interested!

Information and details on this clinic and type of work:
Scars can cause many adverse effects, including pain, lack of motion, and triggering of the stress response when the body senses the "pulling" sensation scars cause even on distant body areas.

Kennebec Therapeutics Associates Rebecca Riley, CR, and Linette Mailhot, LMT, are offering free 20 minute consultation and assessment appointments as well as free 45 minute demonstration treatment appointments for interested persons.

"Scar Therapy," developed by CR Sharon Wheeler, is very gentle and easily tolerated. It can soften thickened areas of scar tissue, loosen surrounding muscles, and dissolve adhesions between layers so that skin and underlying tissue can move freely once more. Range of motion, circulation, nerve function, and tissue appearance and resilience will generally improve noticeably.

Scar Therapy works well with scars from surgery, accidents, and burns. It is remarkable to see the improvement in tissue appearance and softness after Scar Therapy.

Let us know if you or a friend might be interested in making an appointment for our free clinic!

We are no longer requiring that clients wear masks, although they certainly may if they want to!🙂 All of our staff is still masking and are vaccinated, and N95 air filters are running.

Announcing the arrival of online booking! We are now using Noterro for online scheduling, appointment confirmation, and 24 hour pre-appointment reminders.
Established clients, please ask us to put your email address in the system if you desire these updates.

Additionally, we can email you an invitation to create your own Noterro account. You will then be able to book, change, and even cancel (with 24 hr. notice) your sessions online. (Please note online booking is not available for Beth.)

To get a Noterro account invitation sent to you, please call or e-mail us, or mention it the next time you're in the office!

First-time clients will still need to call the office or e-mail us to make a first appointment, and a Noterro account invitation can be sent to them at that time.

We hope this system streamlines the process for everybody, although you're still welcome to schedule by phone, email, or in person at the office.

Thanks to our new tech-savvy associate Linette Mailhot for setting up a system we hope will save everybody time, effort, and the frustration of phone tag!

Linette and I just attended a 16 hour class, "Kinetic Chain Patterns for Complicated Knee Conditions" by James Waslaski. The instructor showed how foot, ankle and hip conditions are often responsible for knee pain, taught orthopedic assessments for knee injuries as well as hip and foot movement faults, and gave us a chance to practice many effective interventions and self-help programs. Can't wait to use some of the new information!

Mother’s Day is May 8! It’s a perfect time to ask us about gift certificates for Mom. She may need pain relief with myofascial or trigger point work, a great relaxing massage from Linette or Sheila, or perhaps a Rolfing session from Rebecca to help with pain or posture.
