Our bodies need to feel the safety of slowness.

If you grew up in environments where love or safety was only given when:

You were “doing”
You were “pleasing”
You were emotionally attuned to others (often at your own expense)

Then your body equates stillness with danger.

“If I’m still, I’ll be forgotten.”
“If I don’t try, they’ll leave.”
“If I don’t stay ahead, I’ll be left behind.”

So even when your mind wants peace, your body starts to panic. You feel anxious, scattered, or like you should be “doing more.”

This is not sabotage it’s a nervous system conditioned by urgency and emotional hypervigilance.
