Built in 1996, the Cottonwood Point community is located in the northeastern quadrant of Augusta, Kansas. Augusta is a small City, with a population of approximately 9000 residents. The City offers comfortable, small town living but yet is close to the largest City in Kansas – Wichita. Augusta has several restaurants, small stores, and two grocery stores. amily and friends have convenient travel options to visit our residents. The Cottonwood Point community rests along the east side of Lake Augusta, a 256-acre lake owned by the City of Augusta, Kansas. The lake is a great place for outdoor recreation, fishing and boating, although boats are limited to less than 10-hp motors so as not to disturb the residents in the area. Cottonwood Point is also located in a great spot for viewing the annual 4th of July fireworks show over Lake Augusta. Also along the east side of the Lake is a concrete walking path that runs north to the Shyrock Park and south to Garvin Park. Cottonwood Point is located within two blocks of the Augusta Public Safety building, where police, EMS and fire resources are housed in case our residents ever need assistance. Cottonwood Point has sixty housing units in total. Twenty of the units are one nad two bedroom with individual garages, while the other forty are one and two bedroom without garages. We offer several units that have lakefront views as well. Our front four buildings each house five living units, and the main building is a two-story facility with multiple living units, including those which overlook Lake Augusta. We have staff on-duty during the day to assist with maintenance and other needs. We also have a full kitchen and dining area, and meal plans are available. If you like to get out and do things, there are plenty of opportunities with the Cottonwood Point community, including bingo, day trips, and other group activities.
