Bad periods shouldn’t be your normal. If you’re living with debilitating cramps, heavy bleeding, or monthly dread… make an appointment and let’s talk options. There are medical treatments that can stop your period altogether, and for many, that means major pain relief: ➡️ Continuous birth control pills – skip the placebo week and skip the bleeding ➡️ Extended-cycle pills – like Seasonique, with periods only 4x/year ➡️ Depo-Provera injection – every 3 months, often no periods at all ➡️ Mirena IUD – long-acting, many users experience lighter or no periods ➡️Lupron – typically for more severe cases like endometriosis, puts ovaries on “pause” However, Birth control isn’t the only way to manage dysmenorrhea. If you’re not ready for hormonal options, there are other options too! You don’t have to just “deal with it.” Periods shouldn’t be a source of constant suffering. Talk with your GYN about what works for you. We make a plan together.

I’ll never get over this moment. Watching a baby take their first breath and a mother meet her baby for the first time is something I’ll carry with me forever. Happy Mother’s Day!!!

👶🏼 “Wait… how old are you?” 🩺 “Have you… done this before?” After 7 years in private practice, I still get asked if I’m the new resident (especially in July). 😅 Having a baby face in medicine is a blessing… and a little bit a curse. Yes, I’ve been here before. Yes, I’ve delivered hundreds of babies. And yes, I still get carded at restaurants. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I used to be cool… Now? I’m all about self-care, pelvic floors, annual exams, STI testing and making sure every woman is getting her pap, her mammo, and DEXA scan, ✨ Catch me trading late nights for magnesium supplements and reminding everyone that prioritizing your health is the real glow-up. 💁🏽‍♀️

Can you… have an STI and not know it?

Some days, I trade my scrubs and surgery cap for heels and lipstick…and let me tell you, it’s everything. As an OBGYN, the days are long, the work is intense, and the responsibility is real. But stepping out of the OR and into my real life with my husband and kids? That’s where the magic happens. Because behind every strong woman in medicine is a strong support system (and mine is amazing)… but nights like this are how I refuel. 💕 🎥 OR ➡️ Date Night 👩‍⚕️ Doctor life ➡️ Real life 🫶 Balance is the goal

Let’s talk about movement in labor! 🌀 We’re not just waiting around…we’re working with your body to help baby move down into the pelvis. Whether it’s bouncing on the birthing ball, opening the pelvis with a peanut ball, or practicing Spinning Babies techniques, movement is a powerful tool. ✨ These tools help: 🔹 Encourage optimal fetal positioning 🔹 Open the pelvis to make room for baby 🔹 Reduce labor length 🔹 Ease discomfort 🔹 Promote progress, especially if labor stalls Every birth is different, but using all the tools in our toolkit can make a big difference. So yes, we’re gonna bounce, sway, squat, and side-lying release our way to a smoother labor when we can! Ask your OB, midwife, or nurse about ways to keep moving during labor. Your body was made for this… and we’re here to support it every step (or bounce) of the way 💪👶

Finally. About time. 🙌🏼 ACOG just released Clinical Consensus #9 — and it finally makes it official: pain control for office procedures in OB/GYN should be standard, not optional. For far too long, women have been expected to just “tough it out” during procedures like biopsies, IUD insertions, hysteroscopies, and more with little to no pain management. And yes… even I’ve been part of a system that didn’t always prioritize this the way it should have. 😞🤦🏼‍♀️ But that stops now. Women deserve better. They deserve options. They deserve relief. They deserve to be heard. 🩺 Options for pain control can include: • Premedication with NSAIDs • Anti-anxiety meds • Topical lidocaine sprays or gels • Para-cervical blocks • Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) • And more, individualized for you If you have an upcoming in-office procedure, talk with your doctor about what’s available and what’s right for you. Your pain is real, and it matters. 💬 Have you had an OB/GYN procedure done in the office? Did you get offered pain control? I’d love to hear your experience below ⬇️
