Everyone has 2 TMJs (temporomendibular joints)- the hinges on either side of your jaw that allow you to open and close your mouth. Unfortunately, dysfunction of one or both TMJ affects many. Common symptoms of TMJ Dysfunction include:
• Pain or tenderness in the jaw.
• Pain in one or both temporomandibular joints.
• Aching pain in and around the ear.
• Having a hard time chewing or pain while chewing.
• Aching facial pain.
• Locking of the joint, making it hard to open or close your mouth.
• Headache.
• Neck pain.
• Eye pain.
• Tooth pain that occurs along with jaw tenderness.
Massage therapy effectively relieves TMJ pain by targeting tense jaw, neck, shoulder muscles, improving jaw movement, reducing stress, and increasing circulation through techniques like trigger point therapy, friction massage, myofascial release, and even intraoral massage (inside the mouth) for deeper relief.
If you are in need of relief from symptoms related to TMJD, consider scheduling a massage session with me. 😊
And now through December 25th get $20 off your first session.
