Yesterday he needed a little extra snuggle time, so we went back to the basics. It had been a while since I’d worn him like this and you should have seen his face light up. When I tried to take him out he was not going for it lol. Toddler wearing for the win.💙

Give to Gain.

On this International Women’s Day I am honoring two doulas who have given to me so generously in this work.

Through their wisdom, encouragement, and willingness to share what they have learned, they have helped shape the doula I am becoming.

This work can feel heavy at times, but women like them remind me that when we pour into each other, we all grow stronger.

Today I celebrate the women who give so freely so others can rise.
Happy International Women’s Day. 💜

Augusta area families delivering at Wellstar

Wellstar has launched a program offering FREE doula support for some patients delivering within their hospitals.

Support is available during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum up to one year. The program may also include childbirth education, breastfeeding support, and care coordination to help improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

First community comfort measures workshop is in the book! It was such an intimate session and looking forward to the next one. We discussed my top 5 laboring positions, partner support and we did a ton of practicing! Next workshops will be in May, August and November! More info to come! 🤎❤️

There are moments in birth that stay with you.

This is one of them.

Iesha was so gentle. Not because she was unsure. Not because she was afraid to be strong. But because she loves her. And you could see that love in every adjustment, every pause, every look on her face.

She kept watching her… making sure she wasn’t adding pressure where it wasn’t needed. Making sure she wasn’t causing more discomfort. Making sure she was okay.

That kind of attentiveness is intentional.

Birth can make you feel exposed. Raw. Vulnerable. And to have someone beside you who is fully tuned in like this… it changes the atmosphere.

You could feel the safety in the room.

And being in rooms where love shows up like this… where partners lean in this way… it does something to me every single time.

It reminds me why I do this work.

It feeds my soul. 🤎

Listen….even as a doula some nights you do what you have to do…and this particular night I rocked baby girl until she was in a deep deep sleep!😂😂 I really felt like a human snoo!
