Skywood Recovery

Skywood Recovery We are a residential treatment facility that firmly believes that everyone has the ability to recover There are no lone wolves in recovery.

Skywood is an extraordinary place that fosters healing through our staff, peer support and a restorative environment. As part of Foundations Recovery Network, our purpose is to create lifetime relationships for long-term recovery. You aren’t just experiencing rehab and treatment at Skywood; you’re developing the skills and relationships you need to propel you into a brand new life. Establishing this new life is also about finding ways to sustain it long past your days at the facility. Here are some things that we want you to know about our philosophy at Skywood:

You are connected. Just like how stars are part of constellations, you are inherently part of a network that reaches far beyond your imagination. You will have help, and be able to give back, as you achieve and pursue recovery. Your destiny is waiting for you. Feeling guilty or ashamed of what your life should be—or hasn’t been—is holding back your future. Imagine living freely and taking hold of who you’re meant to be as you begin to reclaim your identity. Uncovering your destiny is what recovery is all about. Healing does happen, and happiness is possible. The chances are great that you’ve overlooked the amount of restoration and gratitude that can happen in your life. Prepare to discover this again—or for the first time—as you embark on a journey of positive change. If you’re ready to take the first step toward recovery, contact us today. Physicians are on the medical staff of Skywood Recovery Center, but, with limited exceptions, are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Skywood Recovery Center. It was a pleasure for Scott Masi and Skywood Recovery to attend the inaugural Michigan RecoveryCon and Film Festival, hosted by CARE of SE Michigan.

This all day event featured prominent leaders in substance use treatment and recovery, along with panels aimed at reducing stigma and fostering community.

Scott, pictured here with Mark Hackel, a Macomb County Executive, spent time discussing jail support services and county wide initiatives to aid our community.

On National First Responders Day, we honor the incredible sacrifices of our emergency personnel. But their heroism comes at a cost that is often unseen. Day after day, they face trauma, stress, and loss, which can lead to serious mental health challenges and substance abuse. This , let's thank our heroes by supporting their well-being. It's okay to not be okay—and it's vital to break the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.

October is ADHD Awareness Month.

Did you know that individuals with ADHD are at a significantly higher risk of developing substance use disorders? ADHD isn’t just about distraction or hyperactivity—it’s a complex neurodevelopmental condition that can impact emotional regulation, impulse control, and decision-making. These challenges can sometimes lead individuals to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol in an attempt to manage symptoms like restlessness, anxiety, or low self-esteem.

Meet Stephanie!

Stephanie is the newest RA here at Skywood. Stephanie says she came to Skywood to be of service and because she has a history of substance use disorder (SUD) and subsequent recovery from SUD herself. She currently has 3 years of continuous sobriety. She says working at Skywood is a gratifying and rewarding experience. Stephanie states she came here to give back what was given to her because she can only keep what she has by giving it away. We are grateful to have Stephanie and hope you all join us in welcoming her to Skywood.

It's October, so that means a new Champion over here at Skywood Recovery. This month, Karrlee was nominated by Dan, and he had this to say:

“I nominate Karrlee because foremost, she steps her game up with patient-centered care, and she works behind the scenes mostly by herself and sometimes doesn’t receive the recognition for all her hard work.”

Great work, Karrlee, we are happy to have you on our team!
