A Moral Mandate for Aurora’s Future

Aurora has made history — and now, we have a responsibility.
For the first time, five Black city councilmembers and a 6–4 majority reflect the true face of our community. But this moment is bigger than politics. It’s a moral mandate to build equity, trust, and opportunity for every family who calls Aurora home.

📊 By the Numbers:

Aurora is now 78% people of color, with 16% Black residents.

House District 42 — Aurora’s “heart” — is 68% people of color, one of the most diverse in Colorado.

Yet disparities remain in business ownership, homeownership, and neighborhood investment.

That’s why the State of Black Aurora 2025 calls for unity around five pillars:

⚖️ Public Safety & Trust
🔧 Workforce & Small Business Development
👩🏾‍🤝‍👨🏽 Youth & Family Engagement

Just wanted to share with you all this picture of Anthony who came to Community Outreach Service Center on 11/17/2023. Anthony stated he had an interview for a job @ 11:00. Darlene Brown helped Anthony find the right clothes, so he could feel comfortable, look professional and sell himself. I am proud to announce, today Anthony Dawy is now employed Full-time ;Thanks to our Dress for Success Closet!

The Equity of African Descended Men Recognized for Excellence

Mission:

Mobilization of Mile High Entrepreneurs operating sustainable businesses, engaged in community, business and policy development. Melganics are mission driven around Healthcare as Equity Advocates in Community, Business and Policy as a strategy has created significant equity, leverage and influence in most professional environments in a short period of time We are huge advocates of this model and believe with consistent practical application as a whole, our collective influence as well as increase exponentially and globally.

This consortium of men created a process and system which provides real economic opportunity and addresses economic disparities and equity gaps facing the African American Community, the trauma and healing necessary and results to a growing number of other men in our community, that also heals our trauma, recognizes our history, and builds a loyal symphony of brotherhood getting results.
