There’s always just as much going on behind the scenes of our witch shop as there is day to day hustle. We wanted to give all of you witches another little sneak of a project we’ll be launching this October!

What could they be?! You’ll all have to wait a bit longer to see. Yes, they’re haus products, but they’re also part of something BIGGER coming to the storefront next month! Stay tuned, witches! Your favorite is about to get a lot better.

We are very excited to announce a special collaboration with local gamer “RetrofitGamesCo.” in collation with the “Aurora RPG Club!” Check out his “Spooky Aurora” RPG zine duo, now available in the storefront!

With both Shop Witches being die-hard “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fans since day one (we have our own “Magic Box” after all, with a kitten named, “Giles”) and one of them also having a history with “Dungeons & Dragons” and tabletop gaming, this seasonal local collab seemed natural.

“‘Spooky Aurora’ is a tabletop role playing game set in our hometown of Aurora, IL!

The first installment, ‘Spooky Aurora: White City,’ is about Aurora’s Irregular Investigators traveling to the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair to patrol for supernatural threats, while meeting up with figures like T.S. Eliot, Anne Oakley, and Scott Joplin.

Its companion, ‘Spooky Aurora: City of Cemeteries,’ has the investigators protecting 1894 Aurora IL from things that go bump in the night! Travel to local landmarks such as the Aurora Gas Works building, the Driving Park, and the historic Aurora Opera House.

These games are designed for busy adults! Fast character creation, a simple 2d6 resolution mechanic, and a Driving Question give players a specific problem to investigate and solve in about 3 hours. Each RPG Zine has nine supernatural adventures that could have happened!”

Join Shop Witch for his debut of what will surly become a Lecture Series classic, “Intro. to Traditional Witchcraft.”

“This lecture-style class will discuss Traditional Witchcraft and all it’s diverse practices rooted in pre-modern, non-Wiccan witchcraft customs and folk magic. We will review it’s focus on natural magic, connection to nature, and it’s initiation rites and secrecy. Unlike Wicca, “Trad Craft” doesn’t adhere to a strict moral code and emphasizes individual ethical development, embracing the dark and the light just as nature does. Shop Witch Adrian will go over best practices for starting out on this rewarding path, lessons learnt on his journey, great resources for continuing education and skill development, and how to root your practice to suit your needs.”

Welcome to this week’s spotlight, witches! This week’s feature belongs to one of our most popular waters, Holy Water!

Also known as “Agua Bendita,” holy water is a popular ingredient in home purification and protection. Holy water has the power to purify the air and space, removing negative energy and promoting positivity. It is used to protect the home and its inhabitants from negative influences. When used to clean the home, it creates a protective barrier against negative energy. Sprinkling holy water in the home is often seen as a way of blessing the space, sanctifying it and promoting peace and harmony. We recommend placing it in a clean spray bottle and using it to spray external doorways and window sills for home cleansing and spirit removal rituals.

Holy water can also be used to cleanse altar spaces and ritual tools. Add a splash of it into bath water, with a little florida water, for a purifying soak.

Welcome to this week’s spotlight, witches! This week’s feature belongs to the Tiger Cowrie Shell.

Tiger cowrie shells are symbols of fertility, divine feminine energy, and water energy. They are commonly used as offerings to Yemaya, female deities, and water deities to gain fertility as well as to manifest abundance. The distinctive markings of the tiger cowrie make it especially revered for enhancing focus, guarding against negative energies, and drawing abundance.
