🚨 UPDATE – PLEASE READ 🚨
The Avalanche practice time has changed to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Thursday.
As a result, Avs FIT will now run from 1:30–2:30 p.m. instead of 12:30–1:30 p.m.

If anything changes again, we’ll share updates ASAP. Thank you for your flexibility!

Join some of the Avalanche players and a strength and a conditioning coach (who lives with T1D) and go through strength stations! See additional details below!

When: Thursday, January 15. The camp itself is from 12:30-1:30 p.m. There is also an optional opportunity to watch the Avs practice at 11a.m.

Where: Drill House at Family Sports 6901 S Peoria St, Dove Valley, CO 80112

What: Avs FIT is designed to provide youth with tools/instruction for physical, nutritional, and emotional wellness. The program is open to elementary & middle schools and community groups, grades 3-8. Activities include dry-land fitness activities, mental health tips and instruction led by Avalanche players. Each participant receives team-branded items including attire, journal, collateral with fitness tips. Parents are welcome to stay at the camp.

Who: Kids living with T1D in grades 3-8.

Meet Dr. Greg Forlenza, Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Barbara Davis Center!

His journey into diabetes care began at diabetes camp during medical school, where working alongside children and leaders in the field sparked a lifelong passion for type 1 diabetes.

With a unique interest in technology, Dr. Forlenza has helped lead the development of automated insulin delivery systems—once thought impossible and now standard of care for kids with diabetes.

His work is driven by one goal: using innovation to improve quality of life for children and their families, one breakthrough at a time. 💙

The Children’s Diabetes Foundation was established by Barbara and Marvin Davis in 1977 in Denver as a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the support of research in diabetes and to provide the best possible clinical and educational programs for people with the disease. The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to support the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, where thousands of patients of all ages from all over the world receive the finest diabetes care available.
